Spain has confirmed its 2026 visa policy, allowing citizens of Botswana 🇧🇼, Namibia 🇳🇦, Eswatini 🇸🇿, Lesotho 🇱🇸, Mauritius 🇲🇺, Seychelles 🇸🇨, Cape Verde 🇨🇻, and Rwanda 🇷🇼 to enter visa free for up to 90 days with an ordinary passport.
The policy covers short stays in Spain and other Schengen countries.
Citizens of most other African countries will still need to obtain a Schengen visa before travelling.
To prepare the bow was not a sign that we loved war. Rather, it was because the suffering had become unbearable and exile had gone on for far too long. Even our own homeland rejected us, so we resolved to liberate the country that gave us birth in order to reclaim our right to live with dignity.
That is how the Liberation Struggle began under extremely difficult circumstances. Yet, driven by patriotism and an unwavering commitment to their country, the sons and daughters of Rwanda never lost hope. They fought with courage, determination, and pride.
Meanwhile, those in power continued a propaganda campaign that portrayed refugees as enemies of the nation, labeling them Inyangarwanda ("enemies of Rwanda"). Despite this, on 28 December 1993, it became increasingly clear that they could not defeat people who had endured years of hardship while continuing to demonstrate love for their country and all its people.
It was on that day that 600 RPA soldiers left Ngondore and moved to the CND (Conseil National de Développement) to protect the politicians who were to join the Broad-Based Transitional Government under the Arusha Peace Agreement. Many people inside the country, who had been led to believe these soldiers were savage "animals," were eager to see them for themselves. Instead, they found disciplined young men and women whose defining characteristic was their deep love for Rwanda.
Rwanda, you have come a long way, and it is your own children who helped lift you from that painful past. As today's youth, we are committed to preserving the values of patriotism, courage, and the cherished Rwandan cultural principles that continue to strengthen and unite our nation. #Kwibohora32 @minegap@RwandaMoD@KARANGWASewase@Ollegkar@FelixMugenzi@kennethRwa@aminallyly13

This morning in Doha, President Kagame met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani @TamimBinHamad to convey his condolences on the passing of his beloved father, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and to express his solidarity with the people of Qatar during this time of mourning.
My deepest condolences to my brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, his family and the people of Qatar on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be remembered as a visionary leader who transformed Qatar into the remarkable nation it is today. His legacy of service to his people and commitment to friendship and cooperation among nations will endure for generations.
At this difficult time, the people of Rwanda and I stand with His Highness Sheikh @TamimBinHamad and our Qatari brothers and sisters.
President Paul #Kagame inspires other African nations by championing a vision of self-reliance, rapid digital innovation, and pan-African unity. His leadership transformed Rwanda from the devastation of the 1994 genocide into a safe, tech-forward, and economically stable country. He urges Africans to reject foreign dependency and build sustainable wealth from within the continent
Kagame was a key force behind launching the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This agreement was signed in Kigali in 2018 during his chairmanship of the African Union. It aims to create the world's largest free-trade area by population.
He advocates for the free movement of people across the continent. Rwanda demonstrates this by offering visa-free entry to all Africans, which boosts business and tourism.

What truly makes a difference is speed. The faster you build a product, the faster you iterate, the faster you find PMF, the faster you get users, the faster you make your startup valuable.
“For decades, Rwanda was shaped by a deliberate system of exclusion, fear, and division. The purpose of the liberation struggle was to restore what had been taken away: the right of Rwandans to live in dignity.
However, the ideas behind the genocide have not disappeared completely. They persist in different forms, and remain present across our region. We have seen, and suffered too much to ever take this threat lightly.
Security and good governance are the foundation of everything we have built. Security is a matter of survival, not external approval. Without it, nothing else holds together. That is why we remain vigilant and firm.
What happened here will never happen again, for one simple reason: we will not allow it.”President Kagame | #Kwibohora32
On the sidelines of the #AIforGood Global Summit 2026, President Kagame met with President @AlarKaris of Estonia. The two leaders discussed ways forward to strengthen bilateral relations, in key areas of mutual interest including digital innovation and e-governance.
“We want to harness the good of AI through industry, through policy making, and making sure that really we get the results. That is the most important thing.” President Kagame | #AIforGood Global Summit 2026
“Today, connectivity is no longer the end goal. We are now transitioning to the era of data-driven growth. Artificial intelligence is the common denominator that will redefine healthcare, education and energy, among many other sectors. As a commission, our mission is to ensure this transformation does not widen existing divisions.
The task ahead of us is urgent, but we will face challenges. The objective isn’t just to have a conversation. It is to ensure everything we agree to do, gets translated into tangible and practical outcomes.” President Kagame
President Kagame joined fellow Co-Chair Marc Benioff and Vice-Chair Doreen Bogdan-Martin for a fireside chat marking the launch of the AI for Good Global Commission. He then chaired the Commission’s inaugural meeting alongside Marc Benioff and Doreen Bogdan-Martin.
The high-level initiative brings together 44 commissioners to identify practical ways to harness artificial intelligence to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
“Artificial intelligence has the power to transform lives and strengthen economies. Africa is well-positioned to contribute to the digital economy. By 2050, our continent will have the largest, fastest-growing workforce in the world. There are many success stories about what our young people are doing on the continent with artificial intelligence. We have to invest in them. It will be a win-win for everyone. The bottom line, is that for A.I. to serve humanity as a whole, we must get it right in Africa and everywhere else.” President Kagame | #AIforGood Global Summit 2026
President Kagame is in Geneva where will deliver a keynote address at the opening of the @AIforGood Global Summit 2026, and officially launch the AI for Good Global Commission, along with co-chair Marc @Benioff, CEO and Co-Founder of Salesforce, vice-chair Doreen Bogdan-Martin, @ITUSecGen, President @HallaTomas of Iceland and President @AlarKaris of Estonia.
