I appreciate it when White Americans are supportive of the tribal nations, it shows just how right I am when I give Whites credit.

BUT...

Whites are the first "Americans".

The pre-Columbian peoples who were here before the 13 colonies arrived did not consider themselves a collective entity.

They were VERY different peoples, nations in the most true sense. They acted in the same way the nations did in Europe; they waged war on one another, reached a peace or committed genocide, traded, migrated, etc.

They weren't American. The IDEA of what it is to be an American came from the Whites. From the founding fathers and the British cultural, political and legal legacy that they represented.

As the Anglo-Saxon heptarchy placed aside their centuries-old disputes and united as a single realm, England, and then united with Scotland for a United Kingdom, the 13 colonies formed one greater identity.

I do not believe the circumstances existed for Comanches to do the same. Our idea of uniting was conquest. We wanted to conquer all of the plains and make it ours. People could join us, but only at our pleasure and under our terms.

So yeah. Thanks for the kind thoughts, but I have to gently disagree.
