BREAKING: Trump's Education Secretary Linda McMahon hit with HISTORIC first-ever impeachment for illegally dismantling the department she runs Linda McMahon — the former pro-wrestling executive Trump installed to run the Department of Education — is now facing the first impeachment of an Education Secretary in American history. And the reason is simple: she's accused of breaking federal law to destroy her own department.
Oregon Democrat Suzanne Bonamici introduced articles of impeachment Thursday, accusing McMahon of "illegally transferring the operations of 6 offices under the Department of Education to other Federal agencies."
Here's the core of it. The Department of Education was created by Congress in 1980. By law, only CONGRESS can shut it down. But McMahon — carrying out Trump's campaign promise to dismantle it — has been gutting the department piece by piece anyway, using backdoor "interagency agreements" to shove its programs over to Health and Human Services and the Labor Department.
The problem? Many of those programs are LEGALLY REQUIRED to stay within the Education Department. McMahon doesn't have the authority to move them. She's doing it anyway.
"McMahon has made it her mission to close down the Department of Education, something she does not have the right to do," Bonamici said on the House floor. And she made clear exactly who gets hurt: "Educators and parents, especially parents of students with DISABILITIES, are distraught and asking us to take action to stop these illegal transfers."
That's the cruelty at the heart of this. The Education Department administers critical protections and funding for students with disabilities — kids who depend on federal oversight to get the education they're legally entitled to. McMahon is throwing that into chaos.
McMahon's response was pure deflection, whining on X that Democrats think "an impeachable offense is working to improve student outcomes" before pivoting to her favorite culture-war obsession — attacking trans students, a focus of hers since day one.
The impeachment is unlikely to succeed in the GOP-controlled House. But it draws a crucial line: a Cabinet official cannot simply IGNORE the law and unilaterally dismantle a department Congress created.
A wrestling executive shouldn't get to bulldoze public education.

Two brothers from Richmond were the first in their family to go to college, and they both became doctors. Now Drs. Travan and Travis Jasper are home, leading the emergency room at the hospital that serves the same community that raised them. Think about the child in Richmond who walks into that ER and sees these two men running it. That child just saw their own future. Congratulations, Doctors. Keep leading. We are proud of you.

Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through — and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!
Twin sisters Tia and Jasmin Criss have made history by graduating as valedictorian and salutatorian of Cheyney University — the nation’s oldest HBCU.
Tia, with a perfect 4.0 GPA, earned valedictorian honors, while Jasmin, with a 3.9 GPA, is salutatorian. The Philadelphia natives completed their degrees and walked the stage on May 9, 2026, showcasing excellence, resilience, and unbreakable sisterhood.
They credit their late father’s guidance and their mother’s support for fueling their success. Their story is a powerful example of Black brilliance and the strength of HBCU education. Their father would surely be beaming with pride. 🙏🏿
🚨DONALD TRUMP FELL ASLEEP AT HIS OWN UFC SPECTACLE
His White House UFC event was an enormous logistical headache and likely cost taxpayers millions.
It’s worse than you think:
⚫️ Secret Service deployment
⚫️ Presidential motorcade operations
⚫️ Air support and aviation assets
⚫️ Military and federal security personnel
⚫️ Temporary infrastructure and staging
⚫️ Barricades, fencing, checkpoints
⚫️ Additional law enforcement staffing
⚫️ Traffic control and road closures
⚫️ Emergency medical and response teams
⚫️ Communications and security equipment
⚫️ Event setup and cleanup
⚫️ Weather contingency operations
⚫️ Coordination across multiple federal agencies
⚫️ Disruptions to White House operations
⚫️ Security sweeps and venue preparation
All so Donald Trump could throw himself a massive UFC-themed birthday spectacle and reportedly fall asleep.
What a tremendous waste.
A huge congratulations is in order! Malik Jordan has officially entered the history books of the American legal system. Having completed his entire high school curriculum by age twelve and a university degree in political science by fifteen, Malik spent eighteen months studying advanced jurisprudence independently at his kitchen table. Yesterday morning, the state supreme court confirmed he achieved a top-tier score on his very first attempt, making him the youngest licensed attorney in the nation. He begins a federal clerkship next month. How inspiring is this young man’s journey?
