I walked into this little hibachi place yesterday wearing my black Pudgy Penguins shirt. I figured maybe one person would recognize it at most.

The chef noticed it immediately.

I’m talking the SECOND I sat down.

He points his spatula at me from across the grill and goes,
“PUDGY PENGUINS?!”

Like… aggressively excited.

The whole table turns and looks at me.

I kinda laugh and go, “Yeah man.”

Big mistake.

This dude’s eyes widened like I had just shown him a military badge from a secret government division.

He slowly nods.

“Very powerful,” he says.

Then he disappears into the kitchen for like two full minutes.

When he comes back out, he’s wearing a DIFFERENT chef hat.

Not a normal one either. Taller. More serious somehow.

He starts cooking onions but keeps glancing over at me every few seconds.

Then he asks,
“You hold?”

I thought he meant the yum yum sauce.

So I go,
“Uh… yeah?”

He stops cooking completely.

Dead silent.

Then he whispers:
“Diamond hands.”

At this point the family next to us is getting uncomfortable.

The chef starts doing tricks with the spatula but every trick somehow references penguins.

He flips a shrimp into his hat and yells,
“COPE HARDER!”

Nobody reacts except me because I physically could not stop laughing.

Then things got worse.

He brings out the flaming onion volcano.

But instead of making the normal volcano shape…

He made a pudgy penguin.

Tiny onion body. Little onion wings. Rice beak.

And then he points at it and says:
“Lil bro survived the bear market.”

The guy across from me quietly asked for his check.

Then the chef leaned in REALLY close while cooking steak and goes:
“You know GIPHY?”

I said,
“Yeah?”

He nods slowly.

“100 Billion views.”

Then he winked.

HOW DID HE KNOW THAT?

I never said a word about it.

At this point I’m convinced this dude either:

1. Was deep in crypto Twitter
2. Was secretly in the Pudgy community
3. Or was literally Luca Nets disguised as a hibachi chef

Then right before we left, he boxed my leftovers up, handed them to me with both hands, and said:

“Pengu forever.”

No goodbye.
No thank you.
Just that.

And honestly?

Best hibachi experience of my life.

Drove a few hours down to Miami today to the Pudgy HQ for a mastermind @LucaNetz put together… worth every minute

Didn’t know who was gonna be there but a really great crew showed up

It was also really special to have @HollanderAdam repping @opensea and @mikashi repping @MetaMask in the room as well

Luca layed out a landscape of the space, problems and solutions and the convos started to flow

I believe today we realized that even though many of our projects are different, many of our futures have different plans of execution… we are stronger if we’re aligned

I gained a new level of respect for Luca, I got to see a side I haven’t seen.

I think today was the birth of a coalition of sorts, a cohort… @illaDaProducer said it best, “probably should have happened in 2022”

Some “important” founders of bigger projects didn’t show or send someone to rep… imo bad look…

but

If we can keep these masterminds going, I believe the overall perception of NFTs will get better… the tech will also get better and be more fit to what we need and…

ultimately collectors across all collections and chains will be better off 💯

I want to also give flowers to @HollanderAdam who handled today like a gem. Quirkies stand with OpenSea every step of the way. We appreciate how involved and real you were along side of @mikashi and MM…

If we have those two in the convos going forward I truly believe we can grow to insane levels as a category… not just as projects competing for liquidity and attention… but improve the category as a whole 💯

Of course I leave the meeting and deal with some Twitter bs

but man… today was special and I was happy to represent Quirks in that room.

Most people think of philosophy as an abstraction that doesn't touch the real world, but they're wrong.

Most real world problems are philosophy problems, and most philosophy problems are "giving things the wrong names".

For example, if you call feral drug addicts "homeless people", then you can't solve the problem. You can only buy more houses for feral drug addicts to destroy.

In this case, we called the police and courts the "justice system".

But they're not. They can't be the justice system.

The function of a justice system would be to give everyone what they deserve.

Now, I deserve a hundred million dollars, a private Caribbean island, and a foot massage from Lauren Bacall in her prime, but I don't see the "justice" system lifting a finger to correct any of this, do you?

No, what we are supposed to have is a public safety system.

The function of a public safety system is to keep the public and their property safe.

If we understood that, we wouldn't care about what criminals deserve. We would care how likely they are to do it again. Or something worse.

In a public safety system, retardation and mental illness are not migrating factors. They are the opposite.

Because they mean that the criminal is more likely to pose a future threat.

We all understand this.

We all understand that the feral retard who stabs strangers on the train for being White and beautiful is a worse person than the man who murders his wife and her lover when he catches them in the act.

Not because of some abstract calculus of moral agency, of who is disadvantaged and who isn't, but because one is certainly going to murder more people if he can, while the other is a lot less likely to.

We've known for centuries, if not millennia, that it's the same small percentage of people doing all the robbing, raping, and murdering, over and over and over again.

And we've known for centuries that if you physically remove them from society, that's 100% effective in stopping them from doing it again.

The only hurdle is philosophical. Call it a "justice" system, and you have to argue endlessly about morality and redemption, and then some leftie thug-hugger weaponizes your own Christianity against you.

Call it public safety, and you confine the argument to likelihood of reoffense. Then you are in the realm of statistics. Which you can compute.

It all starts with naming things correctly, according to their actual nature.

For extra context, just about every crypto fear and greed index in crypto is currently at "extreme fear" levels, hovering at 20-24 out of 100.

These are near-peak bearish conditions, and yet nobody is calling out Pudgy Penguins for "extracting" - why?

The answer is simple: Pudgy Penguins almost always delivers.

Yes, Luca could have sold his soul to the devil in exchange for high floor prices.

But at the end of the day, nobody cares. In Web3, none of that matters. What matters is price. Money. Comfort in one's investments. And Luca has constantly stressed this fact and delivered, time and time again.

It doesn’t matter that @itsafwog did blind boxes first, that @Azuki pioneered NFT GIFs and licensed community IP, or that @BoredApeYC opened the door for Web2 partnerships and celebrity integrations. Pudgies have followed many of these paths, and yet still often executed better.

What does matter is that the Pudgy Penguins community feels rewarded, aligned, and confident that the brand’s success directly fuels their own. That emotional alignment turns holders into a marketing engine that amplifies every Pudgy narrative. It’s a powerful flywheel that has paid dividends.
