Three people with drug-resistant epilepsy. Gene therapy puts a synthetic dimmer switch (a DREADD) into the tiny patch of brain firing the seizures. An oral drug turns that patch down.

Seizures fell by more than 90%. No serious side effects in this pilot.

DREADDs = Designer Receptors Exclusively Activated by Designer Drugs. Lab tool for years. Now it’s in humans… and it’s working.

Not a finished cure yet (tiny study, and the companion drug still needs work). But this is what “engineering the brain” was supposed to look like.

As I said, the Democrats are their own worst enemy. They cannot fathom that while they are cheering a victory, it is not as historic as some are claiming. Eisenhower lost 13 Senate seats in 1958. Truman lost 12, Clinton lost 10, and Obama lost 9. Here in 2026, the Republicans lost 2 seats so far to the Democrats.

The Wisconsin State Supreme Court held that the 2020 elections were conducted under illegal procedures and provided no remedy. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court held that a Pennsylvania law giving ballot watchers the right to watch ballots be counted did not give them the right to actually see the ballots counted.

It is the best modern fairy tale, perhaps the only modern fairy tale. Intoxicating. I got to work for McHale on the pre-season of Adventure Time. That was after I lectured his class at Cal Arts with Pen Ward and Rebecca Sugar, who are all profound talents.

Patrick gave me notes and I couldn't believe he let me get away with writing the most insane stuff in my professional animation career. Of course it wasn't going to be approved by the network. I got whacked but a little big of my work made it into season 4 of Adventure Time in the Sons of Mars episode.

I still wish more of my work made it, but it really was insane. McHale was just boiling with talent ready to explode when they finally gave him his shot with Over the Garden Wall. I'd never seen anything like it. It's magic.

Watching Charlie Kirk get murdered on a livestream and then watching left-wingers celebrate the murder was infinitely worse than your friend getting deported for being in the U.S. illegally.

Maybe take a deep breath and calm down. It’s nice that you care about your friends and want to take care of them, but the constant emotional crashouts are embarrassing.

And for someone who claims that the mere concept of the friend-enemy distinction in politics is evil and Nazi-esque, you sure do spend a lot of time carving out legal exceptions for your friends, spreading false information on their behalf, and smearing anyone who disagrees with you as worse than Hitler.

That doesn’t make you evil, but it does make you a hypocrite and an emotionally incontinent mess who maybe should consider taking a break from the Internet for a while.
