5 thoughts on the left's nihilistic hatred of Israel:

1) It makes no sense. Israel is not winning the world; in October 2023, Israel suffered the raping of its teenage girls, the beheading of its babies, and the slaughtering of its elderly citizens. Israel barely survives at any given moment.

2) Israel-hatred represents not actual morality but a parallel morality. New York city mayor Zoran Mamdani (the left's darling at present) and others present as if they speak for a righteous and holy cause, but they do no such thing. Their parallel morality is no morality at all. It is the inversion of morality. It is righteousness turned to the purposes of hate.

3) There is no reasonable case that the left will listen to about Israel. Hatred of Israel has no basis in moral reality, but that ironically seems to strengthen the left in its nihilistic hatred of Israel. The counter-cultural nature of the cause, going against all reason and common sense, only riles the base up even more. The fact that men and women of sound mind defend Israel stokes the "righteous" fury of the left to fever pitch.

4) The hatred of Israel is from the devil himself. The devil hates the Jews. God still has powerfully redemptive purposes for the Jews (see Romans 11, clear beyond a shadow of a doubt), and at some level, the devil hates this. Satan works against God's plan untiringly, and knows that what Jesus said is true: "salvation is from the Jews" (John 4:22). The Jews have fallen away as a body, but this will not always be so. Satan does not want the Jews grafted back in to the family of God. Satan wants the Jews forever apart, forever lost, and forever estranged from the grace of God.

5) The church cannot fall prey to Satan's machinations. The church is the people of God that is itself relentlessly hunted by the devil. Standing against Satan, the church must love the Jews, defend the Jews, and evangelize the Jews. The nation-state of Israel is not perfect by any means. But there are many Jews in it, and those Jews are directly descended from Jews of ancient days. Arguments to the contrary are baseless and even silly. Jews of today are Jewish as Jews of the first-century were Jewish.

For these reasons, Christians must not stop speaking for the Jews and seeking their salvation. We cannot allow--for our human part--militant Islam to engulf the Jews. We cannot let the radical left poison the minds of young Americans. We must speak truth, and we must defend those who have precious few defenders left.
