Sidon Castle in Lebanon. Sidon was an important ancient Phoenician city inhabited since 4000 B.C. In 1228AD, the Crusaders built this fortress there on a small island which was formerly the site of a temple to Melqart, the Phoenician god equivalent to Hercules.
