I have actually run into this problem on an unreleased project and something I tried that seemed to work okay for me (will depend on preference and art style), was essentially saying the player is invisible (to the enemy) if in a conversation and setting the enemy to return to its position or its patrol after a set number of seconds without โseeingโ the player. It may also depend on your engine and how easy that is to program but for the style of game I think it would look okayโฆ I also tried blocking NPC interactions etc if the player was currently in combat. That can work too. Good luck finding your solution ๐
