Bringing healthcare closer to communities!

Earlier today, our DG @ElodieShami, joined the handover ceremony of a mobile clinic to @Avega_Agahozo_ , represented by its President, Hon. Alphonsine Mukarugema, through a partnership between Imbuto Foundation and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), represented by Country Director Kenan Yiğit.

The ceremony was also attended by H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Rwanda, Aslan Alper Yüksel, and the Director General of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, Prof. Dr. @CMuvunyi.

The mobile clinic, equipped with the necessary medical equipment and supplies for service delivery, will help extend quality healthcare services to underserved and hard-to-reach communities, bringing care closer to those who need it most.

Hon. Mukamugema Manzi Alphonsine, Legal Representative of AVEGA Agahozo, expressed gratitude for the continued support from the @RwandaLocalGov, @Imbuto and other partners.
She noted that the Mobile Clinic will strengthen access to specialized healthcare services, including medical outreach, mental health care, SRHR services, and NCD screening, helping address the long-term health and social consequences of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, particularly among elderly survivors and the wider community.

Today at AVEGA Headquarters, we officially received a mobile clinic generously granted by the Türkiye Cooperation and Coordination Agency to the @Imbuto, and entrusted to AVEGA Agahozo for operation.

This mobile clinic will significantly strengthen AVEGA’s capacity to deliver essential healthcare services closer to Genocide widows and surrounding communities. It will support a wide range of interventions, including medical outreach, non-communicable disease (NCD) and mental health screenings, health education, and other community-based initiatives aimed at promoting health, resilience, and overall well-being.

We were deeply honored by the presence of esteemed guests, including Prof. Dr. @CMuvunyi, Director General of the Rwanda Biomedical Centre; H.E Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, @ElodieShami, Director General of the Imbuto Foundation; Mr Kenan Yigit the TIKA country Director, and other distinguished partners, who joined us for this important handover ceremony.
