Happy pub day to my labelmate @ZephaniahSole. If you put Life of Pi and Bubba Ho-Tep in a blender, added all the right spices, and set it on puree, you’d have Z’s new novel, The Amazing Twin Chicken Freedom Fighters (@RunAmok_books)—a singularly unclassifiable gem. #NewRelease
Check out the Cover Reveal for @ZephaniahSole's forthcoming novel, The Amazing Twin Chicken Freedom Fighters. Juan Carlos Reyes says "Sole's voice has an outrageous authority that commands your attention and rattles your imagination." Look for it May 1. #NewRelease
Thrilled to see NAMASTE MART CONFIDENTIAL nominated for this year’s @IndieFictionAll Chinaski award! If you enjoyed the book, please vote for it here 👇👇👇
Congratulations to our own Christine Boyer and @AndyMiller1313 who's @RunAmokCrime novels—BLACK MARIA and NAMASTE MART CONFIDENTIAL—are shortlisting for the @IndieFictionAll's CHINASKI AWARD. Vote for your favorites of 2024 here:
My friend @AndyMiller1313 and his little family made it through the L.A. fires, but not everyone did. Andrew's co-worker Julian lost his house. Julian's parents also lost their house. If you're in a position, please proceed to this @gofundme link and help ease the burden for this most deserving family. Andrew drove through the burned-out Altadena zone today and reports that he's never seen a tragedy of this magnitude in person.

For those who remember, Richie Walsh, the character in my NAMASTE MART CONFIDENTIAL (@RunAmokCrime) had been an extra on THE SOPRANOS as a child. I based Richie on my friend @Mikeydubbzz who really was in the episode when A.J. drinks the communion wine.
In 2024, my debut novel NAMASTE MART CONFIDENTIAL was released🍾🥂
Set in 2013, just on the eve of the woke apocalypse, its a detective story and dark comedy about two unlicensed p.i.’s who maintain their day jobs at a hippie grocery store in West Hollywood. Yes, the personalities of the two main characters are based on earlier, dumber versions of myself and my friend @Mikeydubbzz.
I remain profoundly grateful to my publisher, @RunAmokCrime, and I was honored to see the book short listed by @CriFiLover among so many excellent titles.
Also, it's still a total trip to see a blurb on the cover of my own book from @EllroyReader, the Edgar-winning biographer of my hero, James Ellroy.
The promo tour was long for this one, and I’m grateful to all the people who had me on their various shows.
Getting to meet @lotus__point and do an episode of THE PERFUME NATIONALIST where we covered Norman Mailer’s THE NAKED AND THE DEAD was especially cool.
In July, I did a reading at @BooksArtifact Encinitas with the Starlite Pulp crew. Artifact is an amazing bookstore that is uniquely welcoming to independent authors. Check them out.
Then, in November I went out to 29 Palms for the second 29 Palms Book Festival, where I read with the Starlite Pulp crew again, this time at an event called NOIR IN THE BONEYARD, which was held at a cemetery.
Earlier this month, my Covid-era crime story was released in issue #5 of STARLITE PULP REVIEW.
Looking forward to 2025. I’ll be finishing my next novel and who knows what else is just around the bend…
