@RuntimeLab Well, true, again to an extent. If the youth are unemployed and unskilled, however, they can be a liability. Efforts should be around empowering the youth with knowledge and skills first. Then we experience growth.

@RuntimeLab I agree with this to a degree. We should innovate with consideration with the resources we have. Google can innovate as much as it wants because of deep pockets. In markets like Africa, we need to create solid use-cases. We don't have the luxury of surplus talent

@RuntimeLab @Google Well, I would argue that this may not be the case. Snapchat was providing an alternative to the status quo of social media. Their money problems eventually showed up because of a flimsy business model, ads, but they've seen a steady decline in platforms like Instagram.

2. ) Take @Snapchat for instance, a great app in it's own right with a fun and cool way to communicate. A product of the western world and at the forefront their development ethos, "build it just because we can" and before long you've set industry standards.

3.) The #app isn't particularly solving any "problem". Users already had a tonne of communication tools to choose from prior to it, it's just providing an innovative way to chat and be in sync with the spirit of the times. Went on fetch a pretty penny on Wall Street.

4. ) You'd wager that it was highly unlikely that when the #founders were looking for #investors, any one of them was asked something along the lines of "how is this app going to solve any problem?" & the founders probably laughed the question off in front of would be investors.
