Followed by six previous SPH Online workshops organised during the past five years, we are pleased to announce that the seventh SPH Online workshop, i.e., SPH Online VII, will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025.

The focus topic of SPH Online VII will be “Fluid-Structure Interactions”.

SPH Online VII will be organised jointly by Kyoto University, The University of Manchester, Technical University of Munich and The University of Glasgow.

SPH Online is an SPHERIC-affiliated event, and we will cordially welcome you to register and participate in this online workshop. The programme along with the registration link will be sent via SPHERIC mailing list around mid-August.

We look forward to welcoming you to SPH Online VII.

I begin to see why FV schemes based on even order polynomials are suboptimal for diffusion: kth-order accurate with k=even, and (k+1)st-order accurate with k=odd, at least on uniform grids in 1D. I'd like to understand why the same is true for irregular grids and higher dimensions. - This is known for DG, but it doesn't seem help understand it for FV.
