The cooking gas cylinder has been hiked again. Rs 942 now, up from Rs 853 in March. That is Rs 89 in three months. Before that came the commercial cylinder, hiked five times in four months. Today is the domestic cylinder’s turn again.

The BJP spent years on the streets of this country protesting LPG prices under UPA. In Mangaluru, their leaders marched to the DC’s office with women, calling cooking gas prices a “women’s curse” and an “anti-people government.” That was 2012, when the price was a fraction of what it is today.

The media that once demanded answers on every paisa of price rise is now busy asking why is melody chocolaty.
