Avery Starks has had an extraordinary career in a Tiger uniform. Collecting over 100 hits and becoming a true ace on the mound. His development and leadership have been so fun to watch. Avery is currently undecided and weighing options for his college future.
Senior Day thread 🧵 for the outstanding Class of 2026. They are all great young men and players on and off the field. This has been a great group to coach and they have left a very memorable mark on me and @MHSTigersBasebl
Simon Rickman came back to baseball as a senior and has blessed our program with his leadership and winning intangibles. Simon has started several games at catcher and does everything to help us win games. He will play football for Lindsey Wilson in the fall.
Final. Murray 6, Calloway 2. With the win our Tigers win the regular season district title and automatically advance to the regional tournament! Great job everyone!!!
Luke Falk shared a Mike Leach story that stopped me cold:
Two kids. One rich. One poor.
Every training camp, Coach Leach told his team about these 2 kids.
The rich kid has two choices.
Get soft. Get entitled. Expect everything handed to him because he was handed more.
Or take the resources, the coaching, the opportunities, and compound them into something greater.
The poor kid has two choices too.
Say nobody gave him anything. Blame the world. Make his circumstances the reason he never became what he could have been.
Or outwork everyone in the room.
Luke said the locker room had both. Kids from wealth. Kids from nothing. Kids with every advantage. Kids who scraped for every inch.
Same choice for all of them.
Ownership or victimhood.
Fuel or excuse.
The rich kid can waste the head start or build on it.
The poor kid can drown in the deficit or weaponize it.
Greatness doesn't come from where you start.
It comes from which kid you choose to feed.
Credit to @coachlukefalk for continuing to share golden nuggets about Coach’s legacy

Feels good to be back in a photo like this! Our boys came ready to play and earned a 2A sectional championship. So proud of the heart and grit that they showed. Also happy to have the best cheerleaders I could ask for. Headed to the state tournament!
