@JonFlynnREstats Booze trade is meaningless compared to all the other sectors. 10 trillion of cross border trade for 34 billion of booze. Its the distraction carrot for Canadians while Trump eats the meal. Media latches on to booze to keep Canadians uninformed about everything else. Cmon Canada
@RyBirdman@MarcNixon24 It doesn't matter to me. I'm just saying same circle of people are leaders and its just polarizing to pick a side unfortanetly.
Got me, yeah he as Chairman in 2024 moved Brookfield Asset Management to New York from Toronto. The kept Brookfield Corporation in Toronto for now.
@RyBirdman@MarcNixon24 He was the Governor of the Bank of England taught at Harvard and Oxford. His home was more away from Canada than in it.
Got me, not all of it. It was the division Brookfield Asset Management not Brookfield corp. that than Chairman Carney moved to New york from Toronto.
@BriGuy2017@FoodProfessor The Wheat board gave small farmers a fighting chance by consolidating volume together to sell globally. Small farmers fought together to keep it. These are the ones that take there life more than nearly all professions
EXCLUSIVE: Receive many letters about dairy, but this one caught my attention. It is confidential information from someone inside the dairy industry who wishes to remain anonymous.
What they shared raises serious questions about how supply management is really working in Canada. And taxpayers should pay attention.
➡️Dairy farmers get quota for free—a valuable asset they can turn around and sell at full market price for $24,500 to $55,000 per unit. The more they get, the more they profit.
➡️Over the last 10 years, quota has increased massively. This means farmers can produce more milk without paying for the right to do so. Some farmers cash in by selling this free quota at market price. Boards never disclose this.
➡️They also get incentive days—extra milk production without quota. That’s more revenue on top of a system already designed to guarantee their profits. Sometimes, surpluses are dumped.
➡️Even though the industry has seen record-high milk production, farmers have received huge taxpayer-funded compensation payments for trade deals like CUSMA & CETA. Politicians are always misled about losses due to trade deals.
➡️Why? They claim these deals hurt them. But the numbers tell a different story. Import quotas aren’t even being filled. One of the reason Trump is upset with Canada. Yet, the government keeps cutting cheques. Politicians have no clue how this system works. They rubber-stamp payouts while one of the strongest lobbies in Canada (@dfc_plc) protects itself at all costs.
➡️If you thought Buttergate was bad, or if you were shocked by all the milk being dumped in recent years, this goes much deeper.
➡️The person who sent this to me refuses to go public out of fear.
➡️The dairy lobby doesn’t want this conversation to happen. But taxpayers deserve to know how their money is being spent.
Thoughts?
@CTVNews How much support did he have at the conservative convention again? If I recall it was more than the last conservative PM. Nonsense article from Liberal media. No attacks on no deal Carney who is on vacation in Italy. He said he'd have a deal done by last year July.
@IamPepLemus@JohnPasalis My point is mostly that debt is the issue and bond rates are inching higher. China isn't going elsewhere the govt and citizens are rushing into gold not real estate. If gold is the hedge maybe the US bailing out Japans yen carry trade is just the beginning
@sarobertson_ What a clown show. I remember many years ago watching US msm in dismay of the other ford. Doug threatening Trump on ads in the US is a terrible way to get a deal. No wonder the West is tired of being apart of this country.
@hitaskunk@_mind_your_biz@prairiecentrist So you trust Trumps words? Or is he a political leader just like the others. Picking sides is the potato. Canada has a pm who as chairman of the corp he's still invested in moved it from Canada to the US months after Trump was elected. His family lives there as well.
@IamPepLemus@JohnPasalis The problem is that its more about diversifying risk not prices going up. Its the criminal aspect as per "Willful blindness" by Sam Cooper at the bureau. Are you familiar with whats happening to real estate and taxes in China? Maybe prices being flat is better for them
@mikewilding@wealthmoose You spend more time replying than sourcing an ounce of any truth. Truth isn't your mission. The fact is he as chairman moved Brookfield from Canada to U.S. right after Trump was elected the second time. He said he would be the best to get a deal yet he moves his business to them
@FidelisLobo@mario4thenorth I'm not on a party side. Its just unfortanate facts. Go check the govt bids awards for nanos. Just saying money talks and I see you defending it
@FidelisLobo@mario4thenorth Agreed those liberal tax funded Nanos polls sure look frothy with no tax dollar wasted as Nanos also took a spin on the liberal funded media to provide clarity as to how he made them up.
@gurgavin Yup its a coming depression now. US printing to save Japans yen is clear currencies can no longer handle increasing bond yield demand. The signal sends US stocks and gold up. Destroying the working class incomes again and again eventually has an end
