🚨 The UK government just published a breakdown of the responses to its consultation on AI & copyright:

- 95% of respondents want AI companies to pay for their training data (made up of 88% saying strengthen copyright law, & 7% saying leave it as is)

- Only 3.5% want a new copyright exception for AI training (3% want an exception + opt-out for rights holders, 0.5% an exception with no opt-out)

These results are absolutely overwhelming. The government should rule out a new copyright exception immediately.

Yesterday there was a lengthy debate in the UK parliament about the government's plans to upend copyright law to favour AI companies.

It was great to see so many MPs stand up for the creative industries. Here is @PeteWishart with one of many questions for @RhonddaBryant, the Minister for (among other things) the Creative Industries:

"He has done something that we have not seen for a long time: he has united every creative sector in opposition to his plans to water down copyright."

We won BIG as the judge allowed ALL of our claims on copyright infringement to proceed and we historically move on The Lanham Act (trade dress) claims! We can now proceed onto discovery!
