@hpierrejacques Im shocked that so many people are chalking this up to “a passionate founder” and giving them a pass. Passion alone doesn’t build companies, particularly when someone has zero control of emotions. Imagine if the founder reacts this way when they get turned down by a customer.

In the end, early stage founders are salespeople and if this is how the react to a “no”, they are going to fail 100% of the time.

@AlexEpstein How about you talk about the jobs, money and energy that can be created at a cheaper cost from renewables while decreasing local pollution (since you don’t believe in the harm of global CO2) Renewable energy resources are cheaper and just as reliable as fossil fuels 🤔

@IanRountree Between Apple’s IPO in 1980 and 1997 the stock price barely moved. So unless there was a massive jump in value between 1977 and 1980, selling was the right choice. Would have needed to hold until 2004 to get a 10x on IPO price, only a 10% IRR. 130x and 31%+ IRR 2004-2022!

Back to the performance story — the argument should be over when you can ship something literally ten times better. Here’s a video showing how we’re 10x faster than a high end natural gas stove at boiling water. 1 Liter in 40 seconds (the gas stove takes ~400 with the same pan).
