He|Him|His Organic chemistry enjoyer; Postdoc in the @GustafsonLab. Enjoy hangin with my wife and dog, Magic the Gathering, and patriotic around the Olympics.
Check out our preprint in ChemRxiv! Trifluromethylation via a Photocaged trifluoromethyl source on small molecules and even some APIs! https://t.co/lQNATXUg9D
We are looking for a new postdoc to join @LipshultzSBU to work on synthetic methods enabled by catalytic photochemistry of catalyst-substrate complexes! Please apply here by May 8: https://t.co/uaVppgQ5s3 #chempostdoc
I am sharing this preprint from my group. Inspired by all the great recent skeletal editing work, we developed an atropisomer selective strategy to take Indoles to quinolines. https://t.co/0QbvvTBSmn...
@Kristenelise20 Just know that the skills that got you here will carry you into your next steps. Keep the big goal in mind and the rest will fall in place. Also, practice self-care.
Tested positive for COVID after a conference. Just kills all the momentum you have leading into a week of experiments. I’m going to get some writing done so this paper can get out!
Gordon Research conference was so inspirational. I’m ready to get back into lab and start some experiments!… on Monday because I’m exhausted. #organicchemistry#GRCORP
Presented my work on #trifluoromethylation of heterocyclic compounds at Gordon Research Seminar and it fills me with happiness that everyone is excited at the ease of use and applicability. Hopefully, I can get the paper published soon and share it with the world.
Man I need #chemtwitter to start diss tracks. I’m so into this Kdot vs Drake beef that I need peer reviewed papers going back and forth on a topic that I can be like “oh I can’t believe they proved that” and if this has already happened can someone direct me to these papers??
In some exciting, but also bittersweet news, the group will be relocating to the Stony Brook University Chemistry department over the summer. I am looking forward to the future, but will miss all of the amazing colleagues and friends at @SDSUChemBiochem

Used to use this back at UTK. You can get good cuts and measure them to optimize TLC usage. Only thing is if you go too slow, you chip off some silica gel.
@BagPhos@andrechemist@OChem_Grenning Ok so Alex, can confirm, is taller than 6’0’ and is def 6’4”. I only have that inclination because I stood next to him as 5’10” and he is def 5-6” taller than me.
I unexpectedly met up with Desiree at @FloHetConf! Having both graduated from the Darko lab at UTK, it’s awesome to see how far we both have come! This is why I love conferences!
