The last time someone could speak openly about caste-free reservations was back in 2008.

Here is the clip of ex-Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh talking about moving away from caste-based reservations to a more inclusive income-based reservations. He spoke while other party members like Gopinath Munde (BJP), RR Patil (NCP) and Manohar Joshi (Shiv Sena) are sharing the stage, and I feel this was the last time we saw good sensible politics in the state.

In Vilasrao's words: "Caste-based reservation creates perpetual social conflict, and people will never move on from caste. Reservations should ideally be based on economic criteria through a united consensus among major political parties."

I hope we can get a CM and politicians like these now who will speak facts instead of only speaking the language that appeal to vote banks and are ruining the future of this country.
