Most adults are still living for the approval of their parents. Trying to get the love they didn’t get as children. Living life for someone else leads to one path: regret. The most important skill to develop as an adult is the ability to disappoint.
We live in a grotesquely unequal society that concentrates wealth, status & power in the hands of a few.
Real patriotism is about building a society that cares for each other and cares for all.
Rest in peace Len Goodman.

@esseltherapy@pollycurtis I am currently halfway through and we need more of your thoughtful, measured approach on this subject. Thank you for making it.
I learnt so much from this series by @pollycurtis on gender dysphoria and what happened at the Tavistock. I admired her constant curiosity throughout her enquiry - offering a balanced and sensitive report on this incredibly nuanced issue https://t.co/cKAiKwBrke
@Aceil Thanks for sharing. I live just a few miles from Brianna's murder & it's been so upsetting. Yet when it comes to trans issues I can understand why there are concerns around certain spaces e.g. feeling safe in gym changing rooms & in prisons. It feels like this Qing isn't allowed.
A friend is someone you can tell bad news to.
They won’t tell you why you’re an idiot, and they won’t interfere with your suffering. They’ll just listen, and maybe they’ll suffer along with you. And they won’t tell you some worse thing that happened to them. (1/4)
