Last year we radio-carbon dated ten pine stump samples from the peat. Two from each of five sites across Mar Lodge. Samples from Coire Etchachan and Glen Geldie date back to almost 8000 years probably soon after pine colonised the #Cairngorms.

@SynchronicityF 1/1 Lost my dad just over a year ago to cancer, I actually worked on the production, water safety looking after Tony and the camera crew in the sea. I realised after Ep 1 that Tully' diagnosis was actually the exact same as my father's. Cancer of the oesophagus and stomach

2 similar looking types of ropework in both photos. Bottom photo ropework for the terrain ie glacier "best practise"👌 Top photo ropework known as Death Roping is "brown practise" 😮 not applicable to 20/25 degree icy slopes in the Cairngorms or ....
