@grace_green128@grace_green128 I have also found success with Padlet during research units. It is a great tool for students to use to organize the information they find in a more effective way than they have done in the past. #TFE620F19#TFE620W20
@joneslauren326 @joneslauren326 I too find Remind useful in parent communications. I appreciate that I can have a conversation with parents without giving my personal information. I find it useful that it can be used through the app or text messages. #TFE620F19#TFE620W20
My classroom website is a space both students and parents can go to find basic information about the class and access helpful tools that will help the students succeed in my class. #TFE620F19#TFE620W20
I communicate with parents through several different avenues. I make contact through calls and email for serious time sensitive issues. For reminders to both students and parents I use Remind. I also have a classroom website. #TFE620F19#TFE620W20
@amanda_piper12 @amanda_piper12 support from admin is important and may be difficult. I've worked at schools where they are open to any ideas that would increase learning and I've also worked in schools that are very rigid and want everyone to teach the same way. #TFE620F19#TFE620W19
@its_jackiec@its_jackiec I had not thought about this, but you are spot on. I find that with some students, it feels like they need my input and validation after ever sentence they write. These types of students would struggle without the constant feedback. #TFE620#TFE620W19#TFE620F19
Barriers to implementation for my classroom would be access to technology and my time. We are not 1:1 so students do not have consistent access. It would also require more planning on my part, which lets be honest is a constant struggle. #TFE620#TFE620W19#TFE620F19
Benefits with personalized learning are reaching those students who are operating on a different level than the rest of the class. Whether it be significantly lower or higher, personalized learning can fit any student. #TFE620#TFE620W19#TFE620F19
I recently used personalized learning when one of my students was out for an extended period due to illness. It depends on the student if it is successful. My student was dedicated to keeping up with her classes and we found great success. #TFE620#TFE620W19#TFE620F19
@amanda_piper12 @amanda_piper12 I have definitely had the experience of directing students to sites that were not user-friendly or had tons of pop-ups. Students become frustrated and shut down. It makes for a very ineffective lesson. #TFE620#TFE620F19
When I was new to Google Classroom, I tried use it to give materials and instructions to my students when there was a sub. It was a big fail. In hindsight, I should have waited to use it for the first time when I was there to assist them. #TFE620#TFE620F19
That is why whenever I am about to use a new technology based resource, I try to work through the lesson as if I am my student. This helps troubleshoot and clarify before the students try it out. #TFE620#TFE620F19
The best feeling is when a lesson involving a new technology is successful. The worst is when a student asks you a question about it and you have no idea how to answer. #TFE620#TFE620F19
@TechyTeacher1 @JakeMillerTech @TechyTeacher1 at a quick glance I can already see how following @JakeMillerTech will be helpful in integrating more technology into my classroom. Can't wait to listen to the podcast. Thanks for the suggestion! #TFE600
@cfrasier5 @hickeygroup @cfrasier5 thanks for the suggestion. @hickeygroup daily thoughts make you stop and think about your approach in the classroom. #TFE600
All of my classmates are giving me great resources to use in the world of #edutech. I can't wait to start implementing these innovative strategies in my classroom. @MGCollegeMAT#TFE600
