Today, 12 August 2026, Rwanda Polytechnic (RP), in collaboration with @UNDP_Rwanda under the financing from the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme @GEF_SGP/SGP, is hosting a Dissemination Workshop on the Behavior Change and Capacity Development in Plastic Waste Management Project at RP Head Office.

The workshop brings together key stakeholders to share project achievements, lessons learned, best practices, and practical recommendations for strengthening sustainable plastic waste management in Rwanda.

The 17th IUCEA Annual Meeting and Conference concluded today in Nairobi, reaffirming the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening research, innovation, postgraduate education, and regional collaboration for greater societal and economic impact.

Today Rwanda Polytechnic – Gishari College participated in 19th Rwanda Agricultural Show 2026 held in Mulindi in Gasabo District. This exhibition was officially opened by the Minister Agriculture and Animal Resources Dr. Telesphore Ndabamenye. In his remarks, the Minister argue that the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources has committed to promoting technology‑driven farming. The Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources also commended higher learning institutions participating in this exhibition to continue advancing research aimed at fostering innovation in farming. @RwandaPolytec @RwandaAgri

Today, @RwandaPolytec and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Rwanda signed an MoU to strengthen professional education and develop the skilled workforce needed to support Rwanda's ambition of becoming a regional hub for trade, transport, logistics and supply chain management.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Dr. Mugabo Patrick, International Vice President and Chairman of the Africa Forum @cilt_global said, “The sector continues to face a shortage of professionally trained practitioners, with many entering through experience rather than formal training. This partnership with @RwandaPolytec is a major milestone in professionalizing the sector, developing globally competent professionals and positioning logistics and transport as a career of choice for young people”.

Dr. Sylvie Mucyo, Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic said, "Working with CILT Rwanda will create more opportunities for our students, staff and professionals to gain internationally recognised professional qualifications and accelerate continuous learning. Through collaborative research and industry-led hackathons, we will bring academia and industry together to develop practical solutions that address the evolving needs of the logistics, transport and supply chain sector."
The event also celebrated the presentation of @cilt_global Certificates to some of the 20 @RwandaPolytec students, recognizing their commitment to professional excellence and equipping them with internationally recognised credentials that will strengthen their career prospects.

@RwandaPolytec is Currently training #540participants across 19 tracks, equipping young people with digital skills and helping them to build creativity within their sector.

This kind of training is critical to preparing young people for decent work through giving them both the technical skills, soft skills, and the mindset to grow as entrepreneurs.

This week, Rwanda Polytechnic delegation led by the Vice Chancellor @SylvieMucyo, visited Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 in France under the Team Europe Initiative on Manufacturing and Access to Vaccines, Medicines and Health Technologies (MAV+); a project that aims to develop the capacity in bio and pharma manufacturing and create an enabling environment for sustainable manufacturing.
During the visit, @RwandaPolytec and @UnivLyon1 signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in teaching, capacity building and research in the fields of Science, Technology, Health and Education.
The delegation also visited Sanofi Pasteur Lyon, a global leader in #vaccine manufacturing, and bioMérieux SA, a leading #biotechnology company specializing in diagnostic solutions. The visit provided valuable insights into industry best practices, further strengthening Rwanda Polytechnic's efforts to build industry-ready skills and research capacity for Rwanda's growing #pharmaceutical sector
