@Kuhnzp@yelichfans Wouldn’t exactly say great with 5 walks, but very fortunate to hold that Phillies offense to 2 runs on 2 hits. 2 runs shouldn’t have been that big a deficit to come back from. Hope we get the offense rolling again in Detroit.
@yelichfans Between Imanaga last night and Taillon so far today, I’m more than thrilled that we’re starting to do some damage against Cubs starting pitching. Hoping we stay hot against their less-than-stellar bullpen
@yelichfans Or we could go with Blalock or Koenig in an opener role, at least until we get Hall back (if necessary). Still have some faith in Ashby but he clearly isn’t there right now
@SaladinoWRLD Certainly unpolished as a starter and in general, with less than 50 career big-league innings. No reason for concern right now but hope he can heat up soon
@travisWSN So by that logic Baltimore (101 game winners in ‘23) isn’t trying to field a competitive team either? There’s a lot of allure into having big name players locked into high-$$$ contracts, but it isn’t necessarily the best indicator of success. Time will tell with both clubs
@SaladinoWRLD It’d actually be worse than his 2023 season, but these aren’t the worst numbers in the world either. Gonna need him to surpass this to give our new-look starting rotation some much needed run support.
@BrewPackOnYT I’d be bummed to see Wiemer go, even if ‘23 was a struggle for him offensively. Has options remaining so it’d be nice for him to get consistent ABs in Nashville. Could see Tyrone Taylor get moved at some point in ‘24 and Wiemer could get back in OF rotation that way.
@yelichfans Good track record at collegiate level, and wasn’t dreadful in his interim position with SD in ‘15 (who aside from their OF featured a worse all-around roster than what he’s inheriting here). Doubt we repeat as NLC champs, but don’t think we nosedive either…yet.
@JimPolzinWSJ Sadly wasn’t misguided picking Northwestern to cover on my parlay…🙃 Hopefully there’ll be something worth salvaging in these next two weeks.
@WinksThinks No free rides - hoping like hell the next guy we bring in to manage doesn’t send us spiraling down to the cellar and we make things as difficult as possible for the Cubs.
@johnnyc1952 I didn’t think Counsell sticking around here was very likely at all, but now this means my top pick to replace him (Pat Murphy) will more than likely join his staff in Chicago. 🙃
@WiscoGrant Winker over Tellez almost feels like a wash, Rea over Houser for this series makes sense with Rea having the fresher arm. Would’ve preferred Mitchell over Winker but maybe we’ll get that should we get to the NLDS
@IKE_Packers@packers 6 - know that he usually gets better the later we get into the season, but this was hardly the start we envisioned for him. Hopefully things start trending upward tonight
