9 Suggestions for making money and maximizing joy as an entrepreneur based on my experience building and buying companies:
1. Think small to improve chance of success and enjoyment. Replace focus on large total addressable market with minimum viable market
@thesamparr@HamptonFounders —the 0.75 percent fee of assets under management they pay their money manager. On 5M that’s 37.5K a year. But it’s hard to spot this expense
—fees on their index funds
—their home upkeep / repairs
—etc
@thesamparr@HamptonFounders They likely miss
—their many lumpy expenses like property taxes, paying once a year for their tax return, that one big vet bill every other year, the basement flooding, vacations, etc

@kallawavy @ShaanVP All I’ve done the past two years almost is coach full time. I have a full roster of 16 clients but I may be able to take on a new client now or soon. If you’re interested in discussing DM me. Only half the help I give is snake oil…lol
@volodarik@joelshansen I’m executive and life coaching these days. Have 19 clients at the moment mostly CEOs and founders but also those in transition and other executives.

2) Taking action

“Entrepreneurship should give you time-freedom and alleviate financial anxieties. You’re trying to solve for both your well-being and real wealth.”

@markfbonner@frantzfries@austin_rief@Jason@web@axios@JimVandeHei@Bisnow I wouldn’t suggest others think they can build profitable local newsletters. Bisnow likely isn’t profitable after overhead on ads alone and most verticals we tried failed. I doubt local news with ads alone works. I’d just hate for others to waste their time.
