Had to re-download this app to take care of something (on an account I did not delete when I left, which is in no small way hypocritical on my part bc I have occasionally lurked) and I must reaffirm that this thing makes you a worse person in all the ways that count.
How they talk about “Cellar Door” in Donnie Darko is how I feel about this automated train announcement. Most gorgeous possible combination of words in the English language. Rest in power.
“This is the train to….Ronkonkoma.”
RIP to Van Ritshie, the iconic voice behind the automated announcements on our M7 trains, who passed away earlier this month.
The overwhelming reaction is that these people don’t appear to live in the real world. And they don’t. The mirror world won out. And I don’t know how or if that genie goes back in the bottle but truly ain’t shit funny with this app anymore. It’s dangerous. Full stop.
There’s a direct correlation between the belief that we needed the last generation of old white men to die out for change to occur and the right-wing takeover of our algorithmic way of life. Controlling that space can’t be understated as a deciding factor in all of this.
Everyone keeps talking about how speechless they are and how this all spits in the face of rationality aren’t acknowledging the distorted reality these people in the mirror realm exist in. It caters to and stokes reactionaries. This is the long and short of it to me.
how the fuck do you even begin to combat this degree of misinformation? this is the wealthiest guy on the planet who gets billions in govt subsidies openly lying abt immigrants and the dems on the #1 podcast days before the election.
I truthfully did not think it was possible for the Saints to have an elite corner. It actually broke my brain to see him lock top WRs down on a weekly basis. We went from the worst secondary to the best in a few years and it all started with him. Best CB in Saints history
The #Saints are precious pearls and are always living and relevant, because they provide a fascinating commentary on the Gospel. Their lives are an illustration of the Good News that Jesus brought to humanity: God is our Father, who loves everyone with boundless love.
