@UberWestHam You're confusing asking price with market value. West Ham can ask for ยฃ65m, ยฃ85m or ยฃ100m. The player's actual value is whatever clubs are willing to bid. They're not the same thing.

If he wants out, has limited contract leverage, and United are the only serious bidder, West Ham won't be negotiating in a vacuum. The final fee will be whatever the market supports, not what anyone believes he's worth.

@Sam6WHU Also, if the debt issue has been eased by the board, then the club's negotiating position is stronger, not weaker. So why would they accept a fee 20-25% below the alleged valuation?
@Sam6WHU You're treating an internal valuation as if it's a market valuation. They're completely different things. Every club can say a player is worth ยฃ85m. The question is whether any club is willing to pay it.
