@Prolapsarian Google is still the best search engine which is truly unfortunate because it is still many times worse than when I used it in the 2010s. So the actual answer is that search is just worse now and we have no recourse. Duckduckgo and braves search engines aren't nearly as good.
@BrendanKeefe It's good to know that conservatives protect the sacred institution of cuckoldry. All the pieces are falling into place. They just see using flock as being in the cuck chair.
@Pablomf6 You call it a weakness but it is unfortunately very intentional. Companies have used their money for political influence to rig the game in their favor. It's malicious behaviour that has been allowed to continue. It's hard to respect rules like these written by these people.
@Pablomf6 It doesn't really matter what the companies say. They don't have integrity; all they care about is money. Copyright is antithetical to preservation and access to media. It creates artificial scarcity. This negatively affects projects like the internet archive.
@unusual_whales Something this extreme financial cynicism misses is that if you underpay people even if they take the job and that makes their life harder, they aren't stupid; they aren't going to work as well because you're making it harder on them then it needs to be.
@PurpleColonelSP@KazeEmanuar Not really sure why but part of it is breaking up these social media monopolies. They are a single point of failure for the entire Internet. Smaller platforms can build smaller communities which can have more trust vs Twitter which is idek how many people sharing the same space.
@KazeEmanuar Governments have become so deadlocked, corrupt, and ineffective we've lost faith in their ability to do their job. But this is a solvable problem. You can regulate the output and institute better protections to abate these problems. The internet is not a force of nature.
@witchfell@Hennejoe Really? It feels like if you're doing big modern development it's probably worse now with all of these complex workflows. It's much easier for indie devs though I guess even if that's not the majority experience.
@LonelyGoomba It is. Play Super Mario Eclipse. I will shill Eclipse and propagandize people into playing the cooler version mostly because it deserves more love.
@witchfell@Hennejoe Huh that's interesting but I feel like without actually developing for the psx you have access to all these modern niceties. It reminds me of games that imitate n64 games where it looks convincing until you actually compare it an actual n64 game.
@Fabrazz I have been shilling Super Mario Eclipse now that people are playing Sunshine again because if you love Sunshine you owe it to yourself. I don't have a lot of fondness for Sunshine personally but I really enjoyed Eclipse.
@Viveegon If we're gonna have Sunshine revisionism anyways can you please play Eclipse ๐. I'll even take Sunburn. At least then it would make some sense.
