Math & Mountains, Code & Camaraderie. Putting the 'Fun' in Applicative Functor since 1981.

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

Clearly. I have discovered a truly marvellous proof of this, which this margin is too narrow to contain. https://t.co/7qMfcbeZfW

[Functional Swift @SwiftMonads]

clang is a functor

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@pashmerepat orthogonal, but probably also related approach: Ask it to create animated 3d visualizations of stand-alone portions of LEAN proofs (use Astra's blender tool calls?) and show them to people who can read LEAN and see what happens

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@pashmerepat LLM's can't devise a discreet Navier-Stokes successor because humans haven't written down anything clever enough to train on yet. But maybe we could hallucinate one together with the models, starting with new discreet math on basic shapes

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

New best friend just dropped.

Her name is still tbd, but probably gonna be Sadie. I'm in love already!

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

Look at my boys!

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@stephentyrone It doesn’t let you turn it off till you’ve enabled one of the other options.

I used the iOS 2fa, but I also contemplated just letting this be the reason I finally quit Twitter.

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@stephentyrone -2 in Denver with light winds last week, and I can confirm that blustery is the right word.

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

Masters degree!

My wife finished her residency last week, and graduated yesterday as a nurse practitioner.

Proud of all her hard work!

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@feistybunnygirl Durrells in corfu

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@RebeccaSlatkin Probably @_primes_ in terms of raw emotional anticipation and excitement

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

Absolutely epic show ⁦@bret_rospective⁩ in Denver right now!!

So fun, and so funny!

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

I hope it is, too; I miss all the parties.

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@JordanMorgan10 A ZStack which respects safeAreas, and then one of the children of the ZStack ignoring it is my typical tool in similar situations

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@JordanMorgan10 .edgesIgnoringSafeArea(.bottom or .vertical) will apply to all child SwiftUI views, so if you have a GeometryReader or _anything_ with that applied as a parent, you may get the behaviour you see.

[Navan @Navan]

Can't believe Spirit Halloween sells this

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@arrdem Cabin in the mountains? To bike and hike and ski most days?

But seriously, it really feels like the end of an era, and it just sucks.

[Navan @Navan]

Feeling bullish on the future of travel & expense ⁦@NYSE⁩

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@arrdem <eagles nest wilderness has entered the chat>: hello!
<south of McClure pass>: Hey buddy!
<St. Elmo>: u up?
<South colony lakes>: how you doin’??
<holy cross wilderness>: I’m literally right here…

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@yongfook Favorite coaster has a dog on it that reminds me of my old dog Cody.

For me, minimalism in the workspace cultivates focus; while reminders of non-work related joy bring me back to gratitude (dogs, kids, nature, family…)

[Ryan Cumley @RyanCumley]

@yongfook Multiple coasters for multiple beverages.

And a nearby surface to move said beverages, and snacks, etc… onto so that I can restore the work desk to pristine condition without walking all the way to the kitchen and ruining my focus.
