@DonnardMorgan @Vy_Dong_Group@UCIChemistry Thanks! We have briefly looked at non-aromatic internal alkynes and unfortunately they are unreactive. We attribute the loss in reactivity to sluggish isomerization of the alkyne to the allene intermediate.
@anatmilo@Vy_Dong_Group@UCIChemistry Thank you! Given the types of ligands we examined there was not a clear trend between electron donating groups and selectivity. The placement, size, and potential inductive effects appear to be major contributors to selectivity. The optimal MeO-BIPHEP ligand was in its own class.

@HamaadMoustafa@Vy_Dong_Group Spot on, thiols are typically thought of as catalyst killers, but in the case of our Rh catalyst we don’t observe any inhibition when adding excess thiol.
@andrei_yudin@Vy_Dong_Group Thanks! We do observe small amounts of thiol alkylation at higher temperatures and/or with catalysts that do not give high conversion.
