Race control have ruined the end of this race. What an absolute joke. Feel for the fans who’ve paid a fortune to be there. Race control need to be so much more on it with safety car and race restart procedures. Farcical @F1
Not really worth getting too caught up in this type of political game, but definitely worth remembering that UEFA’s track record isn’t particularly great. I.e. Ridiculous super league idea and their negligent treatment of @LFC fans during the Champions league final in France.
BREAKING NEWS: No, not U.K. cabinet resignation (though there will be a @RestIsPolitics on that soon!) I am hearing that Omar Artan who was denied entry to the US for being the wrong colour is being lined up to referee the @UEFA Super Cup game between Villa and PSG! If this is so, and he accepts, then it will show once more how much superior are European to current US values. Infantino out Čeferin in!!! Fingers crossed we get confirmation soon.
It's pretty impressive how in a few short years FIFA have managed trash the international game to the extent the moral highground is somehow back with the domestic game...
Not to mention the detrimental impact it had on UK’s position related to trade with the EU and the fact it did not drive any main discussion in the campaigns leading up to the referendum. A decade long slow train crash.
Before Brexit, there were about 300K net migrants a year, mostly from the EU.
After Brexit, immigration shot up to 900K, and EU migration was negative.
It’s amazing how stupid Brexit was from every possible perspective.
Populism is a low IQ movement.
This is catastrophic and not one single radical solution has been implemented to address any of this since global financial crash. It’s a total failure and a national embarrassment. https://t.co/EQ2qGyu0tw
This message, beautifully put by Robertson is why I can’t get behind any of the noise around Slot. So many have taken what’s happened to @LFC this year totally for granted. They’ll go again next season, and football in the grand scheme of things merely is a wonderful irrelevance.
🚨 Andy Robertson on this season:
“We are not at the 2017 stage, we are at the transition stage. We won the league last year. The environment was very similar. We had to go at 100 per cent in every single game and the messages were very clear from the manager, the backroom staff and from everyone in the building.
“Now this year hasn’t worked out for a variety of reasons. We can’t hide away from it, and it is not an excuse, but what we went through in the summer no team will ever go through. No member of staff will go through. I hope they never go through it because the devastation we went through… football didn’t matter.
“We didn’t care about football for weeks. None of us wanted to train. You were getting treatment off physios and physios didn’t want to treat you. That is the reality of it. As footballers we then, of course, have a duty — we have to move on, we have to keep going and we managed that. We started the season fairly well although it was still an emotional time for us.
“The Bournemouth game [on the opening day of the season] was ridiculously emotional with all of Jots’s family being there. I think in the 20th minute you saw a real dip in performance after that because of the emotional impact it had on all of us…
“We have been too easy to play against. There is no hiding away from that. But for the future of Liverpool, I believe they have more than enough in that changing room to go and achieve more things again.”
Irrespective of any leadership bid it is now crystal clear the UK tabloids pursed Angela Rayner irresponsibility and vindictively, forced her from office, danced on her political grave. Surely any fair onlooker will contrast this with their blind backing of Nigel Farage and inability to investigate his £5m gift from a Thai-based backer who appears to have at least two names.
Rumblings of leadership contests for @UKLabour as if that did @Conservatives any good in their slow tedious downfall. Grow up and get your house in order.
Also generally fed up of the corner shenanigans that premier league teams are up to this season. Every team is as bad as each other. Referees need to get on top of it.
Oh come on…this is a foul. I don’t support either team and know you cannot put your arm on the goal keepers neck. Why is it taking so long. It’s so painfully farcical. @premierleague@SkySportsPL
Problem is that they have no one with the right skill set to communicate what effective change for the long term is. You will convince absolutely no one after people have spent year after year feeling worse off. Labour will keep losing if they don’t address this.
These are tough election results for Labour and I’m sorry to all of those colleagues who have lost their seats.
Keir Starmer won a mandate to change our country.
We must get on with delivering that mandate - and show how politics can improve people’s lives for the better.
Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.
