@_pseudo_name@hissgoescobra Not them but the mushy, mindless middle that drifts aimlessly from Clinton to W to Obama to Trump to Biden and somehow back to Trump again. This kind of small-scale incompetence gets through to them in ways some of the big stuff doesn’t.
@_pseudo_name@hissgoescobra The $14 million is peanuts to pay for the embarrassment to Trump and his lackeys. These kinds of stories stick (unlike the paint job), and accelerate the growing recognition of Trump’s incompetence.
@JL_Baseball The monster black hole that is the Guardians lineup doesn’t have the luxury of worrying about defense. Give him a glove and point to the outfield spot you want him to stand on.
@BoomerDivvies@CoachRolfes There’s a limited number of professional teams for sale. But the billionaires can spend big on college football and fancy themselves kingmakers. I’m good with my 3 Ohio State football championships in the last 25 years and now I’m ready to check out of this nonsense.
The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool had aging pipes, cracked concrete and filtration problems. Trump’s administration spent over $14 million but didn't fix the infrastructure. Now it’s covered in algae and they're dumping 12% hydrogen peroxide in it.
That’s the most perfect metaphor for modern Republican governance we've seen all year. Paint the surface. Ignore the problem. Try to fix the fuckup and blame somebody else.
@fawfulfan It’s like the idiocy, incompetence, and corruption of both Trump terms distilled down to its swamp-green, algae-infested essence and put out in view, between Washington’s and Lincoln’s monuments, for all the world to see.
@MEPFuller Surely, we can at least bring back the bleach-and-light, shock-and-awe, Covid-era Trump daily briefings … but this time focused on the algae-ridden reflecting pool.
@BoomerDivvies@RoaringHammy You can hike town to town to all five of the Cinque Terre towns. Or use the little train that connects them. But the views from the trail are amazing.
@MHPoison1 Great idea!!! It sure would be exciting to see the great cities and museums like that. I might opt for a little longer than a month in some cities. There’s so much to see, and the great cities also tend to have a lot of day trips a short train ride away.
@womenoptionswin I gave a buddy of a mango to try one time. Turned out he was allergic. I had never heard about mango allergies until then. I love mangoes, so I’m glad I can eat them. But I also love shrimp, which I’m allergic to.
Every trip has a glitch, so hopefully you’re good to go now.
@BoomerDivvies@MarketPalmer_ I was a mediocre B/C student. My father got annoyed & offered $1,000 if I could get straight A’s, like my teachers always said I could. Which I promptly did. Got into Miami University (Ohio) right B4 a book came out about the “public Ivy” universities, which included Miami. Ha!!!
