@paperpile -- PDF annotation tools in Chrome are no longer available (can see them, but they're grayed out and not clickable). also some PDFs won't load. working fine on iOS though... Any idea what's happening?
Not an exact quote, but Dan Sarewitz once told me, let’s invite @RogerPielkeJr (to this meeting)—his presence in the room makes others smarter. That’s how I feel about him on Twitter. Very few people are asking the questions Roger is asking and I believe we are all better for it.
@urbanfishDr I think of it as raw data that needs to be processed. You could also think of the “processing” step as simply adding crucial metadata to the raw data. The image is already accompanied by metadata such as time and location. Image content is another piece of that.
New work from our @calacademy colleagues! This paper discusses the main barriers to using unstructured #communityscience#citsci data in research + management, and describes four fundamental approaches for overcoming these challenges. Nice work @giorapac@RebaFay@alisonkestrel
Why not go outside and explore nature? 😯 Join us in the City Nature Challenge, happening now. Go outside, take photos of wildlife (plants, insects, birds, etc.), and upload to iNaturalist — it is that easy! Follow us @cncsacramento to learn more or go to https://t.co/cHFqsQOTH3.
Well, it sure was nice to open up this @NYTScience article on presidential science advisors and see exactly the right scholars quoted and referenced. @ASU_SFIS@ShobitaP@RogerPielkeJr#scipol https://t.co/vJq8DQcAIG
Good #scipol coverage by @onthemedia . Love the point about grantees as “cultural colleagues” of finding agency staff, and the problems that creates for enforcement of policies.
Not in Sacramento? No worries! You are still a part of the City Nature Challenge Sacramento team, use iNaturalist in any of these counties April 30th – March 3rd for participating in the City Nature Challenge!

“the success of brokerage requires a policy-making process that is receptive to evidence—a process that begins with a question rather than an answer.”

New review of how the different terms for BIBS (brokers, intermediaries, boundary spanners) are defined in different sectors, and what they do.
