Fellow writers, don't forget to protect your blog if you have one. Here are some tips from WordPress on how to protect your content. While it's WP specific, you can probably apply these tips to other platforms as well:

Writers, buy the book you want. Sleep in more than you should. Eat more snacks. Take a break when you need rest. We work so hard and put so much stress on ourselves to be perfect, don't be afraid to spoil yourself. You've earned the extra rest, snacks, and a good book.
@DreamingAria_ Last names are an afterthought for me, and a lot of characters don't even have first names until it's time to put them in the story. I do come up with surnames while hashing out details though, for completion's sake
@MarcusCVance I'm long-winded by nature (something I'm working on), so shorts are difficult because I'm always wanting to expand on the characters and story - then I end up outlining an entire book or series. I'm better at them if they're just for character development, like origin stories.

Cashier: That's going to to be 40 hours a day
Me: (sets one hobby aside) How about now?
Cashier: 30 hours.
Me: (puts away more) Now?
Cashier: Maybe if you don't sleep.
Me: (slides over a $5 bill) Now?
Cashier: That isn't how this works, ma'am.
Writers, if you ever feel like quitting, just remember that every writer has felt that way. You're not alone. Writing is incredibly difficult and often overwhelming. But the truth is, every published author felt that too, but they kept writing. Keep writing, you will succeed.
@CNewton78 Well since you've put me on the spot, I'll try it out and get back to you with the results. Misery by SK is staring me in the face right now, so might go with that one

I just found out my grandmother starts reading books at the halfway point - completely skips the beginning. Does anyone else have or know someone who has a unique reading ritual?
(Personally, I'm aghast at gramgram)
HEY YOU
YEAH YOU
Person whose feeling stressed, depressed, unseen, unheard, exhausted, angry, defeated, nervous, anxious, unsure, or like they're on the verge of a breakdown:
Good job existing
Good job breathing
Good job being you
I'm SO glad you're alive

@CNewton78 I'm a fan of slow burns and a completionist to a fault, so I probably couldn't do this, but it's definitely an interesting take. The hard part might be deciding which book to use as the guinea pig
