2-loss SEC teams out of conference:
- 18-0 overall
- 6-0 vs P4 (avg score 42-25)
- Win over #1 team
- Only losses to each other
2-loss B10 teams OOC:
- 18-6 overall
- 1-6 vs P4 (avg score 21-36)
To whine that this is bias is to argue for EXTREME bias in favor of the B10
If more understood how different the talent is in the middle of the conferences, they hold more defendable opinions.
The absolute top of the B1G or ACC can absolutely compete with the SEC in most years, but they have such an easier path.
The SEC grind due to talents is real
@stanbino7 Or…Occam’s Razor
Most talent (NFL Draft, which is unbiased)
Vegas lines (unbiased and money driven)
Non-SEC-affiliated AP voters (actually lean more SEC than SEC-affiliated voters)
The simplest solution is that these unbiased sources are just picking the best teams and players
@adamazing1@drossiter11@DuragRebel If the B1G pulls away or Miami/ND and the B1G win the next few, it would be undeniable that a shift similar to the one that kicked off the 2006-2022 run may be underway.
Mid run (2013-2018) it seemed like it might be shifting, but didn’t. Let’s see if this trend holds.
@RyanHampton He primarily caught it with his left arm, then hit the ground and not only did the ball hit the ground and move, but he rolled over it and came up with it in his right arm.
Wasn’t close to being a catch
@adamazing1@drossiter11@DuragRebel You think they draft out of…habit?!?
If they are drafting someone, they’ve done exhaustive assessments of their performance, then personally tested their physical and mental abilities.
The NFL and Vegas don’t care about habit. Money drives both. They aren’t biased.
@claracottontail@ChuckEWeiss@CarterByrd13 The ground can’t help the catch. The ball rotated over his arm, hit the ground, shifted as he regained full control, then he had it.
That’s never been allowed
@joe_greezy@drossiter11@DuragRebel I’d be fine with any version that weighs schedule difficulty.
I’d love a 9-team conference slate with 1 each OOC game against the B10, B12, and ACC. 12 games…all P4.
@joe_greezy@drossiter11@DuragRebel Agree with you on Arkansas, MSU and Vandy. Kentucky is not elite, but can sometimes pull upsets.
A&M and South Carolina have more talent than all but maybe 3-4 Big 10 schools and more than almost all B12 and ACC except Clemson and Miami.
That leaves 10 tough ass teams.
