I think they've overrepresented actual gate receipts for a long time. They didn't tarp the end zone because they had TOO many people coming.

But Cal, Stanford, UCLA, and USC have all seen (at least anecdotally to my observation) dramatic dropoffs that have coincided with the erosion and ultimate death of the P12 and administration's disinterest in big time athletics relative to their peers over the last 20 years.

What people miss about the USC discussion is that those of us who deeply care about the sport see it as a glaring example of further erosion of college football.

Collectively, we fans of CFB /want/ USC to play in a packed out Coliseum.
