@KHONnews Thanks for posting. Hope it’s contained soon. Strange that @Oahu_DEM and @HNL_HFD haven’t mentioned and live fire maps don’t even show the fire. Is there somewhere else residents can look for info about live fires? 🔥 🤷♂️
SEIA statement on Senate passage of the reconciliation bill:
“Despite limited improvements, this legislation undermines the very foundation of America’s manufacturing comeback and global energy leadership. If this bill becomes law, families will face higher electric bills, factories will shut down, Americans will lose their jobs, and our electric grid will grow weaker.
“Enacting this legislation would set back America’s global competitiveness, destabilize our energy future, and weaken the very industries that power our economy and strengthen our national security—while surrendering the 21st-century tech race to China. It will strip the ability of millions of American families to choose the energy savings, energy resilience, and energy freedom that solar and storage provide.
“As the House re-considers this legislation, every member should ask themselves what kind of future they’re voting for. Our communities, our businesses, and our futures are on the line.”

China installed 400 GW of new power last year, over 350 gigawatts of solar and wind.
The U.S.? Just 63.
We talk a big game about leading on AI, chips, and reshoring manufacturing.
But where’s the electricity going to come from?
Some say natural gas can replace renewables. But the largest turbine manufacturer, GE Vernova, is already sold out until after Trump's term.
Meanwhile:
📌 China = 400 GW
📌 U.S. = 60 GW
📌 GE Vernova's global gas turbine output = 20 GW… for the entire globe!
If we gut clean energy incentives now, we don’t just fall behind, we're cooked.
You can't grow your economy and run AI data centers on backorders and broken promises.
We’re demanding more energy than ever. And we’re about to constrain the resources that are actually delivering it.

@JigarShahDC Some of us understand this. 😉
A chart showing battery storage price comparisons due to tariffs will provide additional context that USA is needlessly raising the cost of energy deployment. … 😡
Agreed. 🇺🇸 needs #energyaddition not #energysubtraction
Continue ramping Solar and Storage AND nat gas and nuclear to meet the demands of Ai load growth.
Unfortunately @SecretaryWright has forgotten his own statements and sold his soul to spread misinformation and lies-shame
@dougsheridan@SiegelScribe Easy to say from research and policy position. There are GWs of projects that won’t make it. In-service requires much more than EPCs hitting their build timelines. Transformer delays and utility commissioning adds massive risk. What’s your issue with safe harbor?
Clean Energy Buyers Association is closely following the Senate’s amendment votes today on the #OBBBA#BigBeautifulBill. This is critical legislation, but CEBA’s 400+ members who represent many of the largest energy buyers in America need targeted fixes. These amendments are fair and help with energy costs 🔽🔽🔽
Yes! @tylerhnorris nails it. We have GWs of solar and storage utility scale projects lined up to power AI growth, nearly a Trillion economic activity, hundreds of thousands of employee tax paying jobs that will be burdened with unworkable retroactive project risk.
The problem isn’t “ending subsidies.” It’s:
1) Abrupt termination after major capex is already sunk
2) Cutting eligibility at an arbitrary in-service cliff, blowing up project pipelines
3) Imposing extreme, unworkable FEOC rules that ignore supply chain realities
4) Slapping an excise tax on our fastest-to-deploy resources
5) Doing all this amid spiking demand, tariffs, rising grid upgrade costs, & permitting bottlenecks
Hopefully a handful of Republicans will do what’s right for America and support these amendments. Solar and storage is not a green energy scam as misinformation spinsters are pushing. It’s a definitive net economic positive. #savesolarforamerica🇺🇸
The Ernst, Grassley, & Murkowski Amendment corrects several of the clean energy provisions that are most damaging to American workers, American businesses, and American energy leadership.
SEIA encourages all Senators to support this amendment and thanks @SenJoniErnst, @lisamurkowski, and @ChuckGrassley for their responsible leadership.
Debate and amendments continue today on the Republicans' One Big Horrible Bill. There's still time to make it less bad, especially on energy provisions.
If you want energy abundance, cheaper electricity, less pollution, NOW is the time to CALL Senate offices and tell them to:
-remove punitive new excise taxes on solar & wind, the only power sources capable of deploying fast enough to meet demand growth and fuel AI
-restore orderly phase-out of solar & wind tax cuts with commence construction (not placed in service) deadlines
-remove unworkable 'material assistance' requirements for energy tax cuts that are redundant in a world of tariffs and impossible for firms to verify or Treasury to administer.
If you care about retaining a globally relevant US auto sector, you can also tell them not to abruptly sunset EV tax credits before end of 2027!
This is the final stretch. Make sure Senators know what you want. Especially GOP senators.
@MrPizazz@SAFFL Your annual report was an overload of unorganized thoughts, but heartfelt. Far from 💩. However, your biggest regrets should be half your drafted team. 🤣
10 years ago Nicola and I moved to Hawaii to help the state to 100% renewable energy. So great to see one of her #solar & #storage projects online w more ahead! The future is bright thanks to @ClearwayEnergy@GovHawaii@scottglennHI and many more. ☀️ 🌎 https://t.co/OfdcCnRKlc
Hawaii Energy News: Hopefully @GovHawaii vetos SB2510. Hawaii’s renewable energy future needs his leadership now. This article by @BluePlanetFound and @sierraclubhi explain why.
