@RentersRights@jacobrday Please enlighten me as to what conflicts of interest I have. My only dog in this fight is I want what’s best for renters. https://t.co/jMv8SNXHEy
@RentersRights@jacobrday I am no lobbyist, & have no connection to landlords / developers. Just a guy that cares about evidence-backed approaches to making housing more affordable (e.g. building more housing), which includes arguing against dumb policies like rent control that do more harm than good.
@RentersRights@jacobrday You guys really need to hire someone with better reading comprehension to run your social media. Though your leadership isn’t much better, Losak was among the worst performing candidates for county council…
@RentersRights@jacobrday The Newsweek article just says the WalletHub rankings included renter protections as a measure. The only renter protections included in the methodology are related to security deposit limits. They also mention that AZ has laws for bedbugs. https://t.co/82Xw5qYKYA
@RentersRights@jacobrday You’ve literally proved that one of your biggest advocacy goals, rent control, is highly correlated with being bad for renters. Well done.
@RentersRights@jacobrday Notice that most of the “best” cities on those lists do not have rent control (AZ, Texas, NC, Nebraska), and the “worst” cities do (NY/NJ/Cali). The only renter protections in the WalletHub methodology are Sublet Laws and Security Deposit limits.
Nothing will make you lose faith in leftism more than arguing about rent control
They simply refuse to learn about the consequences of the policies they support, they can’t conceive second order effects
