Somewhere along the way, youth sports stopped treating kids like kids.

They have been turned into miniature professionals. Rankings. Exit velos. Recruiting profiles. Year round travel ball. Private lessons every night. Coaches yelling after every mistake like a scholarship depends on the next at bat.

Most kids will never play D1. The ones who do usually had coaches who let them love the game first.

Our job isn’t just to win youth tournaments. It’s to build resilient, confident, respectful young people through the game.

Let kids celebrate.
Let them fail.
Let them compete.
Let them learn toughness without losing joy.

Hold them to a high standard, but remember they’re still growing. The way we coach them now shapes who they become later.

If the only thing your team learned this season was how to win, you missed the point.

The memories matter more.
