The year was 1938. Hitler’s power was expanding and the world seemed to be heading toward an inevitable second Great War.
C.S. Lewis looked at all of the international, economic, and political turmoil of the world and said,
“I’m going to write a book about a philologist who goes to Mars and talks with space otters.”
Hitler’s dead, but the Space Trilogy is still with us.
The temptation of living in a 24/7 news cycle is to think that our full attention must always be invested in world-saving efforts. But the end is always nigh, and sometimes the best thing you can do is write a story, poem, song, or create a work of useless beauty.
It's totally worth listening to Damon even if you don't use market profile - I learned a lot from seeing how he looks at the markets. Of course he is my husband (!) but he has been in the markets full-time for over 58 years. ;-)
you can't communicate well enough because:
- you don't know about Grice's cooperative principle from 1975
- you never learned high agency vs low agency language patterns
- you haven't read Hall's proxemics research on spatial communication zones
- or Burgoon's expectancy violation studies spanning 40+ years
- you haven't even read "Pragmatics of Human Communication"
- you might not even know wtf paralinguistics means
- you have no clue who Paul Watzlawick is
- you've never read Cialdini's presuasion research on privileged moments
- you don't know what Schulz von Thun's Four-Sides Model actually measures
- you've never seen Pennebaker's function word analysis for deception detection
- you don't know what the Johari Window framework reveals about self awareness
- you have no clue how meta communication shapes every interaction
- you've never studied relational vs content level communication
- you don't know what workhorse words are or how to increase your lexicon
- you've never analyzed your filler word frequency or verbal tics
you haven't gone down the right rabbit holes yet...
.@MartinShkreli says photonic computing's "time is coming" - "it's a pretty insane speedup versus GPUs."
"It's kind of like quantum's ugly little stepsister, but I think it's the belle of the ball."
"Recently in Nature, and a few other preeminent journals, especially Chinese companies, have shown you can do MatMuls [matrix multiplication] with light."
"It's actually pretty remarkable. Light goes to 100 THz. But more important than that is you can actually do 3D MatMuls, and they're O(1) in complexity," meaning they take the same amount of time no matter how big the problem is.
"More and more of the chip and entire global computer infrastructure is going photonic. And maybe the whole thing goes photonic someday. And electricity is actually the odd man out."
Very thorough write up on P2Gold by Edison. A lot of details for anyone that wants to dive a bit deeper. Worth mentioning is that they are using numbers from the base case scenario, i.e $2350 gold.

John Quincy Adams on Islam:
“In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE.”
One of the darkest moments in Bitcoin’s early history
June 2011:
- a single user loses everything overnight
- 25,000 BTC disappear
- around $500,000 at the time
- over $2.4 billion at today’s prices
the victim:
a Bitcointalk user known as “Allinvain” one of the earliest miners in Bitcoin
the theft happens on June 13, 2011
12:52 EST
the main transaction:
- hundreds of UTXOs consolidated
- the entire wallet drained at once
destination address:
1KPTdMb6p7H3YCwsyFqrEmKGmsHqe1Q3jg
how it happened:
- Slush Pool account was compromised
- no 2FA
- payout address changed
- credentials already leaked
then the real mistake:
- wallet.dat stored unencrypted
- running on Windows
- mining software from multiple sources
the private keys were literally copied
and when the transaction hit the chain 25,000 BTC moved in seconds
hours later, the post appears on Bitcointalk
allinvain wakes up
his balance is zero
what followed:
- more BTC sent to the same address
- total received: 25,033 BTC
- funds slowly split and moved
today:
- almost everything spent
- only 0.004 BTC remains
the attacker was never found
Blockchain remembers everything
including the first great Bitcoin theft
Trump just acquired "crown jewel" Tri-Alpha Energy.
Why is this important? TAE doesn't settle for hot fusion, they do cool fusion.
They don't need Helium 3 from the moon, they use Boron 11 which is common.
Aneutronic fusion means no neutrons aka no heat/radiation. No steam cycle.
They do direct conversion to electricity. Much more efficient then other fusion methods.
How the fuck is this even possible.
Lido is the largest Ethereum staking provider on the planet with 25% market share. market cap is now below $500M and they have $26B in total value locked. They have $170M in treasury and generate $75M revenue per year.
When I look at this, nothing in crypto makes sense to me anymore.
How much lower can $LDO even go?
A pint-sized robot named Erbai in China has gone viral after it "kidnapped" dozens of larger robots at a robot showroom in China.
People are finding the incident both hilarious and territying.
The event, captured on CCTV, shows Erbai -an Al-powered robot - engaging in human-like conversations with other robots at the showroom to convince them to "go home" with it.
The footage shows Erbai roaming the hallways at midnight, it then stops before a row of larger robots and asks one,
"Are you still working overtime?"
"We don't get off work," the larger robot responds.
"Are you going home?" Erbai persists.
"I don't have a home," the larger robot replies.
Erbai then invites the bigger robots to "go home" and, surprisingly, the robots followed its lead, chanting, "Go home, go home!"
The company behind Erbai confirmed that the "kidnapping" was real, though pre-planned.
They explained it was a test designed to evaluate Erbai's ability to interact with and influence other robots.
The team collaborated with an Al firm to see whether Erbai could autonomously "recruit" other robots.
When George Floyd died, the Australian Left, 15,000kms away immediately marched in Sydney streets, even in the middle of a pandemic.
Yet when Jews were mass murdered ten minutes up the road at Bondi Beach they stayed home and immediately jumped online to make excuses.
These are the same activists who spent years telling us about "racism" and micro-aggressions. This weekend they'll be marching on Melbourne streets oblivious to their role in creating such an ugly environment in Australia.
They are victims of the greatest brainwashing exercise in history and too ignorant to see their role in the consequences.
I am praying for people to realize that years are a social construct and really have nothing to do with price action.
If you simply shift when the year begins and ends by literally two weeks, this changes.
Using candle history is the fastest way to poverty
Wow! Check out these doors and the statue with tears behind them.
Now I understand why Sevillanos were furious when a restoration earlier this year seemed to touch what should never have been altered.
This return feels less like an unveiling and more like a wound finally closing.
SCMP: Chinese who came of age during the country’s economic boom are less supportive of liberal democratic values than older generations, a study has revealed, contradicting the predictions of Western policymakers and academics.

Imagine having billions of dollars and only running one multi trillion dollar company.
What losers. Pick it up Larry’s
That’s right we fix the economy by bullying billionaire for being lazy until they become trillionaires.
