16 - Tonight was the 16th time in the last five seasons that Arsenal haven't allowed a shot on target in a Premier League game, twice as many as any other side in that time (Liverpool, 8).
Solid.
1-0 - Tonight was Arsenal's 14th Premier League victory by a 1-0 scoreline in the last three seasons - six more than any other club has in that time.
Trademark.
50 - Tonight was David Raya's 50th Premier League clean sheet for Arsenal in 109 appearances.
Since joining Arsenal in 2023-24, Raya has kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper across Europe's big-five leagues.
Safe.
Ultimately this is the difference between Arsenal and the others. Arsenal growing a bigger gap is contingent on them doing more in attack and unfortunately that hasn’t been the case this window
It’s funny, pundits talk of it being a mature, professional and disciplined defensive performance by Arsenal. Only get that feeling once the final whistle blows! Delighted with the 1-0 win. Villa will be a tough ground to visit.
That's a really good three points. Winning at Villa Park is rarely easy. Nothing about the performance will have allayed those who think we need attacking additions. (ie everyone.)
Monster three points. Villa Park a horrible place for Arsenal. Emery always pulls something out the bag. Bland outing, familiar attacking softness from last season. Let's be kind and put it down to early-season rust.
A far from convincing half from Arsenal. Sloppy on the ball and build-up play way too slow. Tzolis is struggling against Cash who’s using his experience. No shots on target is frustrating. Play quicker, more urgency.
HT: Not good from Arsenal - it all feels very last season. Too slow, too stodgy, distances are off and can't string any moves together. Villa set up well and finding their exits but we need to be better.
Tzolis struggling but nobody playing well. Passing all over the place.
Those passes between Saka and White have been terrible today.
Villa always does a good job blocking our wingers creative play, but today both our wingers have been well below the standard.
