Why is gender-responsive climate action good for everyone? 🌱 🌍
Inclusive climate policies that promote rights, equality, and empowerment for ALL women and girls create more sustainable solutions that benefit EVERYONE. 🌿
#InternationalWomensDay#IWD2025
#IWD2025 | Celebrating the fierce spirit of #women leading the charge for #climatejustice. Our planet thrives on the strength of connections—women, nature, and justice intertwined in a dance of resilience and hope.
🌍✨ Happy International Women’s Day ✨🌍
Women belong in all spaces where decisions about our planet’s future are made. Yet, too often, their voices are left out of crucial climate conversations. Education is a key tool to change this. When we invest in women’s education, we empower leaders, innovators, and changemakers who drive solutions for a just and sustainable world.
At Climate Action Network Africa (CAN Africa), we are committed to amplifying the voices of women in climate action and ensuring they have access to the knowledge and opportunities needed to shape policies that impact our communities and planet.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we call for more women in climate leadership, policy, and advocacy—because a truly sustainable future is one that includes everyone.

It’s a good day for youth participation in policy!
This afternoon, ACRP Campaigner Bertha Letsoko led the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) handover session, where she and members from partner organizations, @SACAN____ and @TshwaneHub, officially presented the Youth Position on the Just Transition statement to Joanne Yawitch from the Just Energy Transition Project Management Unit.
Representing the voices of nearly 100 young people who gathered at Constitution Hill for LCOY 2024, this statement reflects youth perspectives on a fair and inclusive transition.
It was also incorporated into a global synthesis of youth climate policy demands, coordinated by YOUNGO, the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Today we're celebrating the expansion of #CleanEnergy, but what does that mean?
To us, a #JustTransition to clean energy means:
✅ Increased access to electricity - especially in rural and hard to reach areas
✅ Less pollution
✅ Cheaper more affordable energy
✅ Public ownership of energy systems
✅ More efficient electricity systems
✅ Sustainable energy generation
