2017-18 AUS had atleast a consistent top 3 of Warner Finch & Smith
And then post their ban, likes of Stoinis,Shaun Marsh &Peter Handscombh Marsh were good for them
Khawaja caught a wonderful purple patch
Finch & Maxwell discovered theur lost form
This lineup has none
Only 2 Players from AUS overally average above 40&no one above 45
That too in current era of ODI cricket
One of them has massive strike rate issues&has lot of notouts boosting the avg
Another is very high variance
Where will the runs come from?
There lies AUS's biggest issue
There was a rebel T20 tournament before IPL was even born. That tournament was called ICL. There was a team called Mumbai Champs in ICL and Tino Best was part of it. Tino had a history of attitude problem. I remember in an interview the coach of the Mumbai Champs, Sandeep Patil called him as Tino 'Worst'! 🤣🤣🤣
@Crick2810@6worldcups Tempo is something they can gain with playing more ODIs
ENG have enjoyed playing on SA pitches always
Anyways AUS needs to be strong
A WC to be quality needs a strong AUS
@SivaPoker Their top 7 is fixed and won't be changed
Irrespective of order
Marsh Head Inglis Green Connolly Renshaw Carey
Only 2 players whose places were in slight trouble
They scored good in these 2 series
@Crick2810@6worldcups Eng will do well this WC
Have the consistent batting to rack up big scores
Their batting is better than AUS in paper
Still AUS can outplay them and that's a different topic
AUS main problem is batting
Where are the 40/45+ averaging batting behemoths piling up big knocks in robotic consistency that once used to be hallmark of the glorious AUS era of past
Same in tests&ODIs
Currently squad is filled with only bits&pieces ARs&Openers blitz in PP
@Preetam25046081@6worldcups IND SA NZ ENG AUS
These 5 have always been the favorites for any ICC Events to win in last 9-10 yrs
Only 5 Good teams means AUS can breathe a sigh of relief
AUS lacks consistent middle order players who can score big innings
Just like SA,IND,ENG,NZ have in ODIs
In the last three ODIs, Australia's (various) opening partnerships have produced zero runs and not survived beyond the second ball of the innings
#BANvAUS
This is by far the worst of his specific demands. Not clear whether he means just for T20 or for all cricket but either way, bowlers just lashing the ball at the batters’ pads from as wide as they can would not improve cricket as a spectacle.
