27 Lakh Voters were deleted in West Bengal.
These were not 'dead people' or 'bangladeshis'. These were real people who had already appealed to get their votes restored. The Supreme court could’ve delayed the West Bengal elections until the tribunals finished hearing the appeals of these voters. But they didn’t. Only around 1607 voters were restored in time by phase 2 of these elections. Almost every appeal that was heard turned out to be a wrongful deletion.
In any functional democracy, this would not count as a free and fair election where a large section of voters have lost their voting rights. I'm not saying that TMC would've won for sure if they were added back, maybe BJP would still win, but the question is about the fairness of these elections.
Free and fair elections are a spectrum. Ever since Delhi-Maharashtra-Bihar-Bengal, this needle has moved more and more towards being unfair. Each time somehow the opposition parties participate as usual in the electoral process thinking that they can still pull of a win despite the compromised EC, ED, CBI etc. and each time they have been proven wrong after 2024 Lok Sabha. The question is, at what point will they feel that the level of unfairness is so unfair that elections should be boycotted?
I personally feel TMC should have refused to participate in these elections until all those 27 lakh appeals were finished being heard.
On our way to Hubli to cheer the J&K cricket team as they play the final of the Ranji Trophy. They’ve already made lakhs of people so very proud of their achievements by reaching the final. I’m really looking forward to spending the day tomorrow in the stands cheering them on.
Had a great day at office with my colleagues. It was an amazing interaction & sharing of ideas for our future course of work. It's always overwhelming to hear from young, hardworking & wise people who have very long way to go in public life inshallah.

Chief Minister has approved the “Used Water Management Project”, which includes a ₹19.99 crore Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for Ganderbal town.
This will ensure proper treatment of used water, keep our rivers clean and improve public health and sanitation.

I don't agree with the ideology of @JKNC but credit should be given where it is due. While some political parties are indulging in theatrics over PSA detentions and lodgements outside J&K, CM Omar Abdullah's sons fought a legal battle and got the PSA detention order quashed against a Pulwama youth. It is time for concrete action; theatrics won't work for long.
Today, Provincial President JKYNC Kashmir Province @Mir_Mushtaq_ chaired a District Convention at Mujahid Manzil Budgam to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference has always upheld the guiding principle of Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah: “Sher-i-Kashmir ka kya irshaad – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh Ittihaad.” Unity, mutual respect, and dignity for all faiths remain central to our ideology.
It is therefore a matter of grave concern that practices contrary to the fundamental principles of Islam, such as the use of pictorial or symbolic depictions of living beings, are being introduced inside the sacred Hazratbal shrine - the spiritual heart of our people where thousands gather every day for prayers. In Islam, the principle of Tawheed clearly prohibits such representations. For devotees, this is not a small matter but a direct affront to their deeply held religious sentiments.
The Waqf is not the personal estate of any individual. It is a trust run on the contributions and donations of ordinary Muslims, and it must be managed in line with their faith and traditions. Yet we now witness an unelected individual, with no mandate from the people of Jammu and Kashmir, crowning herself inside holy shrines - the very places where Dastaar Bandi, a long held religious cultural practice was banned. This act not only disrespects the sanctity of our shrines but also mocks the very principles of accountability and humility that Islam upholds.
Even more disturbing is that instead of offering an apology to the people for hurting their religious sentiments - which under Indian law itself constitutes an offence - threats are being issued of arrests under the PSA. Is this the future of Waqf management in Jammu and Kashmir - run not with respect for faith and community, but with arrogance, spectacle, and fear?
Our shrines are places of faith, humility, and unity. They cannot be turned into platforms for personal glorification.
