Machine unlearning is taking off! There is a ton of interest in getting generative AI models to “unlearn” targeted undesirable information, often to meet policy aims in privacy, copyright, safety, etc.
Our new cross-disciplinary collaboration shows why this isn’t simple.
The Yann-Elon drama is highly entertaining!
I love their spirit and the back and forth. They should work together🤣
Far better than the obvious attention-gathering press releases that OAI drops every day just to stay in the news 🙄🙄
AI is not some sort of natural phenomenon that will just emerge and become dangerous.
*WE* design it and *WE* build it.
I can imagine thousands of scenarios where a turbojet goes terribly wrong.
Yet we managed to make turbojets insanely reliable before deploying them widely.
The question is similar for AI:
"do we think there exists at least one design of an AI system that is simultaneously safe/controllable, and can fulfill objectives in more intelligent ways than humans ?"
If the answer is yes, we'll be fine.
If the answer is no, we won't build it.
Right now, we don't even have a hint of a design of a human-level intelligent system.
So it's too early to worry about it.
And it's way too early to regulate it to prevent "existential risk."
@udiomusic can anyone explain why it's taking like 20+ min to generate the extension of this one song; whereas it normally takes 2-3 min. Is the server down or something? I know it's new and all but would be great to get a notif somewhere! :)
@ezyeezybeezy@startingvbasket@georgemikan@CarlosBerkley Clippers, Suns, Wolves, and OKC all have winning records against the Nuggets. It may not be highly likey, but it is entirely possible that another team finishes them off before the Lakers get to them. Denver is LA’s worst possible match-up, so 1st round vs OKC would be preferable
Our world is facing global challenges that require extraordinary creativity from diverse teams. But forming diverse teams is not enough to foster creativity. https://t.co/bMm8OuIwvp via @INSEADKnowledge
It's official: Sam Altman just confirmed the new Q* model breakthrough was a leak.
Plus, huge developments in AI from Elon Musk, Microsoft, the UK, Ideogram, Stanford/USC, Mastercard, and 9 new AI tools.
Here's the rundown of everything you need to know:
@LakersLead If Rui is not closing out games I don't know what Ham is doing. Happy I don't stay up to watch the game.
AD
Wood
Bron
Rui
Reaves
That should be our closing team against big teams, take out wood and put in Gabe or D'Lo for teams who play small.
But Ham 🤦🏿
The work that won today's Nobel in medicine (and saved millions of lives) "was summarily rejected by the journals Nature and Science". Keep trying. Journals are often resistant to new ideas.
@LakersLead Any list that doesn't have Brook Lopez is shit. 1st team all def., can space the floor, and one of the leaders in blocks. Josh Heart and Caruso to complete the list.
