Severn Area Rescue Association SARA is a Specialist water and Land Search & Rescue organisation with a team based in Worcestershire. Established in 2005.
It’s an awesome sight.
And illustration of the value of flood defences.
Ian would probably be up to his chest in water.
Actually he’d probably be in the Severn Estuary!
Absolutely devastating to see my home city getting another battering of flooding.
Thoughts to everyone affected.
Remember, by entering a flood on foot or on a car, you risk your life and could cause more bow wave damage to homes & businesses.

Big thanks to the Red Watch at @HWFireControl for hosting us last night!
We learned a lot about their operations and got to share our work at @SARAWyreF.
Great to finally meet the team after speaking on the phone several times.

Oh dear.
Warning for heavy rain on Tuesday exactly where it’s not wanted.
Another 80-100mm onto saturated ground and into rivers that haven’t recovered from this weekend’s rain.
Risk of more significant flooding rises.
And more heavy rain likely on Thursday.
The K9 team was called out at 0300hrs this morning to assist the police with a missing 14 year old girl since 2000 hrs.Radar worked hard and located the girl safe and well although wet and cold, times like that make the hard work and training all worth while 😁🐕
Massive thank you to all partners for supporting at Bromsgrove and Redditch Young Citizen’s Challenge last week. Nearly 800 students have had key safety input. Good job 👍🏻 @nworccsp@WMerciaRoads@WMerciaPolice@WestMerciaPCC @wpduk @SARAWyreF @HWFireBGrove
SARA flood teams are currently deployed in Bewdley, where the River Severn has burst its banks. We will provide more information on the callout later, but in the meantime many thanks to @SkyNews for showing one of our teams in action this afternoon.

Yesterday we were called out to assist @shropsfire with flood evacuations. We sent crew from @SARAWyre, @SARATewks and SARA Upton.
We were tasked with evacuations and rescues of members of the public, we then travelled back to station to prepare for the next callout.
You might of seen us out and about around Kidderminster last night.
We held a SEARCH EXERCISE along the canal for 3 people. The crews deployed in two search parties to cover the area. The missing people were quickly located and assisted to safety.
As part of Drowning Prevention Week, officers from Wyre Forest Police have teamed up with Wyre Forest Fire Station & SARA to train in water rescue.
Always call 999 if anyone is in difficulty in water, never enter the water yourself.

Stourport SNT attended @StourportHigh past 2 days with @SARAWyreF talking to all students about Cold Water Shock Syndrome. The Ice Bucket challenge is a great indicator of how Cold Water Shock affects the body when swimming in open water.
