Prince Reza Pahlavi Formally Blocked For a Second Time From Attending the Munich Security Conference by the German Government

Late last night Prince Reza Pahlavi's communications team received the below statement from the Munich Security Conference:

"Iranian opposition figures and representatives of the Iranian civil society have been regular guests at the MSC. Reza Pahlavi was last in Munich in 2023. Masih Alinejad, who has also been a guest at the Security Conference in the past, has been invited to MSC 2025.

The MSC Chairman, Ambassador Christoph Heusgen, had also already informally invited Mr. Pahlavi to MSC 2025. After consultation with the German government, Mr Heusgen decided not to formalize the invitation to Mr Pahlavi."

This statement confirms that the German government has directly intervened to block Prince Reza Pahlavi's attendance at the conference under direct pressure from the Islamic Republic.

The statement also proves that previous statements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs made to the media insisting that invitations to MSC were decided independently and that the Foreign Ministry did not interfere to block the Prince’s attendance were lies.

However today’s statement from the MSC is misleading in its claim that its invitation to the Price was “informal”.

The conference’s own statement from less than one week ago clearly stated that Reza Pahlavi had indeed been invited to the Munich Security Conference:

MSC Statement to the media on February 7th: "As a matter of principle, the MSC does not comment on internal deliberations on invitation policy.

As in the past, the voices of Iranian civil society and opposition will be represented at MSC 2025.

In this case we can confirm that the invitation to Mr Pahlavi to MSC 2025 will be maintained."

Formally blocked by the German government from doing so under pressure from the Islamic Republic, Prince Reza Pahlavi will now not attend the Munich Security Conference.

But the Iranian people are strong. They will prevail and triumph. This foreign intervention will inspire Iranians to redouble their efforts to liberate Iran.

The Munich Security Conference (MSC) has disinvited me for the second time in two weeks at the behest of the German Government, under threat from the Islamic regime in Iran. The Ayatollah is pulling the strings in Berlin.

This is a betrayal of both the Iranian people and Germany’s democratic values. This German government has not only silenced the voice of the Iranian people but has actively done the Islamic Republic’s bidding.

Instead of supporting those fighting for freedom, Germany has chosen to appease a dictatorship that murders its citizens, takes Europeans hostage, and sponsors terrorism.

While the Foreign Ministry denied influencing MSC's decisions, the MSC’s latest statement exposes this as a lie. A lie the German government repeated to the German people and the German media.

The regime's desperation to block my participation shows its weakness— they're now outsourcing censorship to Berlin.

But the Iranian people are resilient and strong. They will remember who sided with their oppressors. Despite Germany's duplicity, Iran will be free.

Prince Reza Pahlavi met with members of the British House of Lords and Commons today to call for a stronger approach toward the Islamic Republic. He urged maximum pressure on the regime, maximum support for the Iranian people, full proscription of the IRGC, and an investigation into regime influence in the UK. ٢٢ بهمن برای ما ایرانیان، سرآغاز سقوطی دردناک به قعر جهنم جمهوری اسلامی است: کشور از مسیر پیشرفت و شکوفایی خارج شد؛ امت جای ملت را گرفت؛ به نام دین، آزادی به قتل رسید؛ بوستان‌ها نابود و قبرستان‌ها آباد شد؛ ناامنی و سرکوب و تبعیض به جای امنیت و نظم و قانون حاکم شد؛ زنان، شهروند درجه دو شدند؛ آزادی مذهب از دست رفت؛ و توهمات آخرالزمانی گروهی مرتجع، نام ارجمند ایران را به آشوب و تروریسم پیوند زد؛ پول ملی ایران را روزبه‌روز بی‌ارزش‌تر و مردم ما را روزبه‌روز فقیرتر کرد. آنچه در بهمن ۵۷ رخ داد، شورش اتحاد نامبارک ارتجاع سرخ و سیاه علیه خردگرایی و میهن‌پرستی بود.

آن سقوط تلخ‌ اما یادآور این نکته نیز است که اینجا که هستیم بر خلاف آنچه پایمردان دیو در گوش ما می‌خوانند جایگاه حقیقی ما نیست. هنوز در میان ما بسیاری هستند که ایرانی دیگر، ایرانی مرفه، ایرانی امن، ایرانی محترم، ایرانی آزاد را تجربه کرده‌اند.

در گذشته نمی‌توان زیست اما برای ساخت آینده‌ای تحسین‌برانگیز، از گذشته می‌توان آموخت و الهام گرفت.

ما، هم شایسته وضعی بهتریم و هم نشان داده‌ایم توانایی ساختن ایرانی متفاوت را داریم. چنانکه پیش از این یک بار همراه یکدیگر، به عنوان ملتی متحد، ایرانی را که در آستانه فروپاشی قرار گرفته بود به کشوری مدرن و مرفه تبدیل کردیم. ما همان ملت کبیریم و از تبار همان مردان و زنان سخت‌کوش.

از پیوند آن تجربه موفق گذشته با باور به آینده‌ای بهتر است که بازپس‌گیری ایران از رژیم غیرایرانی تبدیل به خواست ملی شده است.

جمهوری اسلامی در ضعیف‌ترین و ناکارآمدترین روزهای خود به سر می‌برد و تحولات منطقه‌ای و جهانی نیز فرصتی تاریخی را پیش روی ما قرار داده است. اما این پنجره فرصت همیشگی نیست.

من با پشتیبانی و خواست شما هم‌میهنانم برای به زیر کشیدن ضحاک زمانه و رژیمش در این میدان ایستاده‌ام و برای پس گرفتن ایران و دوباره ساختن آن برنامه‌ای مشخص و مدون دارم: طرحی پنج‌گانه که هم مسیر پیروزی را مشخص می‌کند و هم نقشه راه فردای پیروزی را. ما این کارزار برای رهایی و نجات میهن‌مان را با هم در ایران و چهارگوشه جهان پیش خواهیم برد. همانطور که بارها گفته‌ام، ما اگرچه در پایتخت‌های خارجی به دنبال دوستان و متحدانی برای این راه هستیم، اما می‌دانیم که آزادی‌مان تنها به دست خود ما رقم خواهد خورد.

اینک زمان اقدام است. زمان آن است که همراه هم مام میهن را روستا به روستا، محله به محله، شهر به شهر، استان به استان از چنگال اهریمنی جمهوری اسلامی آزاد کنیم و نجات دهیم. اگر آماده‌اید، هر جا که هستید، داخل یا خارج، روستا یا شهر، شرق یا غرب، شمال یا جنوب یک گام برای پیروزی، برای فشار بر رژیم، برای حمایت از انقلاب ملی مردم ایران بردارید؛ هر کس به سهم خود و به هر اندازه که می‌تواند. انقلاب ملی برای پیروزی به تک‌تک ما نیاز دارد، ایران به تک‌تک ما نیاز دارد.

از شنیدن خبر تصادف اتوبوس حامل دانش‌آموزان دختر مدرسه فرزانگان کرمان که منجر به جان‌باختن شش تن از سرنشینان شد بسیار متاسفم؛ برای خانواده‌ها آرزوی شکیبایی و برای مصدومان آرزوی بهبودی سریع‌ دارم.

میزان تصادفات رانندگی منجر به مرگ و جرح که در بسیاری موارد به علت خودروهای فرسوده و راه‌های غیراستاندارد است، در میهنمان بالا و فراتر از آمار جهانی‌ست. باور دارم که در ایران آزاد فردا با سرمایه‌گذاری در سیستم حمل‌‌و‌نقل و شبکه راه‌ها و باز شدن صنعت خودرو در ایران به روی سرمایه‌گذاران خارجی، تکنولوژی‌های جدید و شرکت‌های بزرگ، نرخ این تلفات انسانیِ قابلِ پیشگیری، کاهشی چشمگیر خواهد یافت و ما به صورت مداوم شاهد این حوادث اسف‌بار نخواهیم بود.

در حالی که دولت آلمان به سیاست مماشات با جمهوری اسلامی ادامه می‌دهد، من از مردم آلمان می‌خواهم که نه فقط برای آزادی ایران، بلکه برای آینده‌ی خودشان، در کنار ایرانیانی بایستند که برای حقوق بشر و دموکراسی مبارزه می‌کنند.

من، همراه با هم‌میهنانم، کارزار خود را برای رهایی ایران و جهان از چنگال رژیمی که سال‌هاست بشریت را با باج‌خواهی و ترور گروگان گرفته است، ادامه خواهم داد.

In Berlin, a decision has been made to sideline and silence the Iranian people and to appease the Islamic Republic.

At this important moment of change in Iran, I was pleased to be invited to take part in this year’s @MunSecConf. However, my participation in this conference has been blocked by @GermanyDiplo.

The German Foreign Ministry’s intervention to block my participation places Germany on the wrong side of history.

So while the German government caves to the Islamic Republic, I urge the German people to stand with Iranians fighting for human rights and democracy— not only for Iranians’ sake, but for their own.

Along with my compatriots, I will continue my campaign to free Iran, and with it the world, from the terror of a regime that has been allowed to hold humanity hostage with its blackmail for far too long.

This decision was not about silencing me. This was about silencing the Iranian people. It was about silencing all those who stand for freedom, justice, and dignity. And that we will not stand for.

Despite attempts to deny the Iranian people a voice at this conference, I will nonetheless be traveling to Munich. For while we seek friends and allies in foreign capitals, we know our liberation is in our hands and will never be determined by foreign governments.

It is we Iranians who will decide our destiny and we will not cease until we are successful.

My full remarks this morning at @PressClubDC:

Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. It’s a pleasure to be back at the National Press Club. Thank you for the invitation and I look forward to taking your questions later.

Today the Middle East is on the cusp of fundamental change — a reset that has the potential to course-correct decades of terror, conflict, and chaos to peace, prosperity, and stability.

This reset has been made possible by the significant weakening of Hamas in Gaza, the decapitation of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the fall of Assad in Syria. But it is also made possible by the leadership, vision, and hope offered by leaders — from Riyadh to Jerusalem and across the region— who seek to work together for the prosperity of their people.

But while today offers historic opportunities to the peacemakers, the warmongers are not sitting idly by. The warmongers, the arsonists that have kept the Middle East ablaze for 45 years, are sitting in Tehran. Ali Khamenei and his regime — even those he sends you in well-spoken English and a smile — do not seek to be a part of this burgeoning peace. They seek to destroy it.

How do we know? Because they’ve not just told us. They’ve shown us. From its very onset this illegitimate, criminal regime has waged war on the people of Iran and the people of the United States.

When it murdered our bravest generals it took your embassy staff hostage. When it killed our intellectuals in chain murders it blew up your Marine barracks in Lebanon. When it slaughtered our most courageous youth in the street, it attempted to assassinate your president - Donald Trump.

“Death to America” is not just this regime’s slogan. As Ali Khamenei himself says, it is its policy.

But today, with its proxies in shambles, the Islamic Republic is weaker than ever. So, afraid for its very survival and willing to do anything to save itself, in the coming weeks and months, you will see a different face of the Islamic Republic. It will not speak the language of jihad, hostage-taking, or chaos. It will talk of deal-making, mutual interest, and pragmatism. As it has for half a century, it will use every trick in the book and every tool of subterfuge to lie, cheat, and steal its way to a new deal with the United States.

If it gets that deal, it will use the benefits and concessions it extracts to rebuild its proxies and prepare to inflict more pain and chaos on the region. It will look to bring about an even more terrifying October 7th. It will again wage war on the American people and American interests. This is not my opinion on analysis. It is the track record of the past 45 years. It is this regime’s DNA.

So the United States has a choice— will it seek to use the leverage and this historic opportunity to fundamentally alter the trajectory of the Middle East and the world to bring about lasting peace and prosperity? Or will it fall for the flirtations of a radical Islamic regime and hand the Middle East back to its radical, terrorist proxies?

Of course, put this way, the first option sounds like the obvious choice. But I know there are those, whether out of ignorance, ideology, or personal interest, who look to mislead the administration into thinking that change in Iran can only come about by war and would only lead to something worse. Let me address this directly and frankly: Mr President, anyone telling you that you have to sacrifice the lives of your brave troops to see change in Iran and a peaceful Middle East is lying to you.

We do not seek America’s troops nor do we seek her treasures in our fight for Iran’s liberation. It is Iranians themselves who are fighting to liberate their homeland and to join the burgeoning movement for peace in the region that their occupiers are trying to stop. They have consistently been on the streets, not just seeking their liberation but fighting for it.

But my compatriots are not alone. I will not let them fight this fight alone. They have called on me to lead the transition from this warmongering regime to a stable, peaceful future. I have accepted their call and I am here to do my duty.

My plan to bring down and replace this regime involves splitting the regime and facilitating defections, engaging the grassroots inside Iran, mobilizing global public opinion and the diaspora, working with G20 governments to place maximum pressure on the regime and give maximum support to the people, and finally preparing for the transition and the economic and political reconstruction.

It is because of that duty I have to my compatriots who seek to join the ranks of peacemakers that I am here today with a message: it is time to grab the opportunity presenting itself for a historic reset of the Middle East that will end the endless wars and bring lasting prosperity to all the nations of the region and the world. But that can only happen when we are free of the world’s chief warmonger: the Islamic Republic.

امروز خاورمیانه در آستانه تغییری بنیادین قرار دارد؛ تغییری  که می​تواند به دهه‌ها ترور، درگیری و آشوب پایان دهد و منطقه را به سوی صلح، رفاه و ثبات سوق دهد.

این تغییرات بنیادین، با تضعیف چشمگیر گروه حماس در غزه، سرکوب حزب‌الله لبنان، و سقوط رژیم بشار اسد در سوریه امکان‌پذیر شده. اما این تغییر همچنین به لطف رهبری، بینش، و امید مسئولان کشورهای منطقه، از ریاض تا اورشلیم و سراسر خاورمیانه، که می‌خواهند برای رفاه و مشارکت مردم خود همکاری کنند، ممکن شده است.

اگرچه امروز فرصتی تاریخی برای صلح‌طلبان فراهم شده، ولی جنگ‌افروزان بی‌کار ننشسته‌اند. جنگ‌افروزانی که ۴۵ سال خاورمیانه را در آتش نگاه داشته‌اند، در تهران لانه کرده‌اند. علی خامنه‌ای و رژیم او، حتی نمایندگانی که او با انگلیسی فصیح و لبخند نزد شما می‌فرستد، به دنبال شرکت در این صلح نوظهور نیستند. آنها به دنبال نابودی آن هستند.

از کجا این را می‌دانیم؟ از آنجا که آنها نه تنها این هدف را به زبان آورده‌اند، بلکه در عمل به ما نشان داده‌اند. از همان آغاز، این رژیم غیرقانونی و جنایتکار علیه مردم ایران و مردم ایالات متحده آمریکا اعلان جنگ کرد: همان زمان که شجاع‌ترین فرماندهان نظامی  ما را به قتل رساندند، کارکنان سفارت آمریکا در تهران را گروگان گرفتند، وقتی روشنفکران ما را در قتل‌های زنجیره‌ای کشتند، پایگاه تفنگداران دریایی آمریکا را در لبنان منفجر کردند، وقتی جوانان شجاع ما را در خیابان‌ها قتل عام کردند، حتی کوشیدند رئیس‌جمهور شما، دونالد ترامپ را ترور کنند.

«مرگ بر آمریکا» نه فقط شعار این رژیم، بلکه همانطور که خود خامنه‌ای می‌گوید، منش و سیاست نظام است.

اما امروز، با نابود شدن نیروهای نیابتی‌اش، جمهوری اسلامی ضعیف‌تر از همیشه است. بنابراین، در هفته‌ها و ماه‌های آینده، جمهوری اسلامی از ترس بقا و نجات خود به هر بهایی، چهره‌ای متفاوت به شما نشان خواهد داد. این رژیم از جهاد، گروگان‌گیری، یا آشوب سخن نخواهد گفت، بلکه از معامله، منافع مشترک و عمل‌گرایی حرف خواهد زد. مانند نیم قرن گذشته، از هر حقه و ابزاری برای دروغ‌گویی و فریب‌کاری استفاده خواهد کرد تا راهی برای یک توافق جدید با ایالات متحده پیدا کند.

رژیم اگر این توافق را به دست بیاورد، از مزایا و امتیازات آن برای بازسازی نیروهای نیابتی‌اش و برپا کردن آشوب بیشتر در منطقه بهره خواهد برد. رژیم به دنبال ایجاد یک ۷ اکتبر دیگر، حتی وحشتناک‌تر خواهد بود. و بار دیگر علیه مردم و منافع آمریکا جنگ خواهد کرد. این نظر یا تحلیل من نیست. این کارنامه ۴۵ سال گذشته است. این در DNA این رژیم است.

بنابراین ایالات متحده باید دست به یک انتخاب بزند: یا از این فرصت تاریخی برای تغییر مسیر خاورمیانه و جهان به سوی صلح و رفاه پایدار استفاده کند؛ و یا در دام  فریبکاری‌های یک رژیم اسلام‌گرای تندرو بیفتد و خاورمیانه را دوباره به نیروهای نیابتی تروریستی‌ رژیم بسپرد.

البته، همانطور که ذکر کردم، گزینه اول، انتخابی بدیهی به نظر می‌رسد. اما می‌دانم کسانی هستند که، چه از روی جهل، چه ایدئولوژی یا منافع شخصی، سعی می‌کنند دولت آمریکا را گمراه کنند تا تصور کند که تغییر در ایران تنها از طریق جنگ به دست می​آید؛ اما این تنها منجر به رویدادهای بدتری خواهد شد. اجازه دهید شفاف و صادقانه این موضوع را مطرح کنم: آقای رئیس‌جمهور، هرکسی که به شما می‌گوید برای تغییر در ایران و یک خاورمیانه صلح‌آمیز باید جان سربازان شجاع خود را قربانی کنید، به شما دروغ می‌گوید.

ما در مبارزه خود برای آزادی ایران، به سربازان یا پول دولت آمریکا نیاز نداریم. این خود ایرانیان هستند که توقف‌ناپذیر برای آزادی میهن خود و پیوستن به جنبش نوظهور صلح در منطقه، با اشغالگران میهن‌شان مبارزه می‌کنند.

آنها برای رسیدن به آزادی به خیابان​ها آمده‌اند و مبارزه کرده‌اند. اما هم‌میهنان من تنها نیستند. من اجازه نخواهم داد که آن‌ها این مبارزه را به تنهایی انجام دهند. آن‌ها از من خواسته‌اند تا رهبری گذار از این رژیم جنگ‌طلب به آینده‌ای باثبات و صلح‌آمیز را بر عهده بگیرم.

من درخواست آن‌ها را پذیرفته‌ام و اینجا هستم تا وظیفه‌ام را انجام دهم. برنامه من برای براندازی این رژیم و جایگزینی آن شامل این موارد است: ایجاد شکاف در بدنه رژیم و تسهیل ریزش نیروهای آن، تشویق به حضور همه‌جانبه هم‌میهنانم، بسیج افکار عمومی جهان و ایرانیان خارج از کشور، همکاری با دولت‌های گروه ۲۰ برای اعمال فشار حداکثری بر رژیم اسلامی و حمایت حداکثری از مردم ایران، و در نهایت، آماده‌سازی برای گذار و بازسازی اقتصادی و سیاسی ایران.

به خاطر همین احساس وظیفه نسبت به هم‌میهنانم که می‌خواهند به صف صلح‌آفرینان در جهان بپیوندند امروز با یک پیام اینجا هستم: زمان آن فرا رسیده که از فرصت به دست آمده برای یک تغییر تاریخی در خاورمیانه و پایان دادن به جنگ‌های بی‌امان و ایجاد رفاهی پایدار برای همه ملت‌های منطقه و جهان استفاده کنیم. اما این تنها زمانی امکان‌پذیر است که از بزرگترین جنگ‌افروز جهان، رژیم جمهوری اسلامی، رها شویم.
