NIGERIA AT 66: WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE CELEBRATING?
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.
Today, we celebrate freedom while our children from Askira remain in captivity. Children whose only offence was going to school. Children whose parents have spent the last 4 months living with a pain no parent should ever have to endure.
How can we celebrate independence when our children are still waiting to be rescued? How can we speak of freedom while innocent Nigerians remain in the hands of kidnappers in Niger, Kaduna and other states?
The most painful part is how quickly we are learning to live with the unacceptable. The news cycle moves on, politicians campaign, celebrations continue, and families are left alone with their agony.
If your children are safe, remember those whose children are not. If you can sleep peacefully tonight, remember the parents who cannot. Their suffering must not become normal simply because it is not happening to us.
Our independence means little to families still waiting for their children to come home.
#bringbornochildrenhome. Rescue every Nigerian in captivity. We cannot celebrate freedom and remain silent about those who have been denied theirs.
Dear Nigerian Government,
When our children were abducted in Oyo, we saw urgency.
You deployed 1,000 forest guards. You provided updates. You showed concern. You pursued the kidnappers and eventually brought the children home.
We applauded you because we believed that response reflected the value you place on every Nigerian life.
So why has the response to the #BornoSchoolChildren been so different?
Their parents have protested repeatedly. They have pleaded for their children. Yet months later, we are still waiting for the same urgency, the same visible effort and the same determination we witnessed in Oyo.
No Nigerian is more Nigerian than another Nigerian!
It is already a failure that these children were abducted. It would be another failure to allow their parents to keep pleading while their children remain in captivity.
Give Borno the same urgency you gave Oyo and #BringBornochildrenHome.

🚨WATCH: Zohran Mamdani says Netanyahu should be arrested and tried for his crimes charged by the ICC.
I call on the federal government to execute the ICC warrant for his arrest.
"He adds that Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City."

"If Jaiz Bank doesn't charge interest, how does it make money?"
This is one of the questions I get asked the most.
The answer is simple:
Jaiz Bank doesn't make money from interest. It makes money from buying, selling, leasing, investing, and sharing profits.
For example, if you want to buy a car, the bank can buy the car first and then sell it to you at an agreed profit, which you pay over time.
The profit comes from a real business transaction, not from charging interest on a loan.
That's the foundation of Islamic finance: money should be backed by real economic activity, not just by the passage of time.

Ordinary Ahmad Isah of Brekete Family has taken responsibility for the welfare, education, and upbringing of the children of late Ummulkhairi, the Islamiyya teacher who was tragically killed in Mararaban Jos, Kaduna State.
He pledged to support the children until adulthood and even through their marriage.
A powerful reminder that humanity, compassion, and kindness still exist. May Allah reward him abundantly and protect the children. 🤲💔

My coursemates and I contributed ₦1.2 million for one of our classmates who has been jobless for the past 6 years.
We raised the money to help him learn a skill or start a small business so he could get back on his feet.
Just last week, he sent his wedding invitation in the group.
The whole group went silent.
When we asked him why, he said since he now had “a little money,” he decided it was the right time to marry his girlfriend of 4 years.
We said nothing.
He sent another message:
“Guys please, I can’t do this alone. My wedding budget is ₦3.2 million. I need your support.”
They removed him from the group immediately🙄
6-YEAR-OLD BOY: Dad, I’ve decided to get married!
DAD: Wonderful; you have a girl in mind?
BOY: Yes; Grandma! She said she loves me and I love her too.. and she’s the best cook and storyteller in the whole world.
DAD: 🙁
BOY: What's the problem?
DAD: She happens to be my mother; how can you marry my mother?
BOY: Why not? You married mine! 🤣🤣🤣
Kids are just so innocent!!😆😭🤣
