BREAKING: Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has appointed former IRGC commander-in-chief Mohsen Rezaei as secretary of the country’s Supreme National Security Council.

Rezaei is regarded as one of the IRGC’s most hardline figures and is reportedly preparing Iran’s military response to the ongoing U.S. naval blockade.

He has previously called the Strait of Hormuz a strategic deterrent more powerful than “dozens of atomic bombs” and warned that Iran could turn the Sea of Oman into a “graveyard” for U.S. forces if the blockade is not lifted.

BREAKING: The Trump administration is stepping up pressure on Florida oil magnate and Republican donor Harry Sargeant III to exit his Venezuelan oil investments, Bloomberg reports.

The Treasury Department froze assets held by his offshore firm, Bluewave Properties Ltd., while granting him a license to unwind the investments.

Treasury alleges the company violated a 2018 executive order targeting entities that supported Venezuela’s former government.

Sargeant’s relationship with Washington has since deteriorated, particularly after the Trump administration took control of Venezuela’s oil-rich resources under a new U.S.-backed government.
