Ah yes, the party that “delivers to all” has secured its latest high-profile signing after she was shown the door elsewhere. Truly the hallmark of an unstoppable delivery machine.
Beaumont’s line about Ayanda Allie joining because she’s “unafraid to call out those who have destroyed South Africa’s aspirations” and that she’s now in “the only party capable of delivering to all” is peak self-congratulation. It’s almost touching how ActionSA keeps framing every defection as proof of their unique competence while the actual track record stays stubbornly modest.
ActionSA’s greatest hits so far include:
•Loudly diagnosing everyone else’s failures while governing in coalitions that still produce the usual South African municipal drama (Tshwane tensions, public spats, the works).
•Expelling their own councillors for not hitting recruitment targets (because nothing says “delivery-focused governance” like treating elected representatives as multilevel marketers).
•Positioning themselves as the anti-corruption, pro-delivery alternative while still operating in the same messy, low-trust political environment they constantly lecture everyone else about.
Allie is free to join whoever she likes, and calling out failure is fine work. But the leap from “we welcomed someone who left another small party” to “therefore we are the only ones capable of delivering to all South Africans” is the kind of marketing that writes its own punchline. If delivery were measured in press conferences, statements, and recruitment of the newly available, ActionSA would already be running the country. As it stands, the gap between the rhetoric and the scale of actual municipal turnaround remains… ambitious.
South Africans have heard the “only party that can fix it” pitch before. The delivery receipts are still pending.

But for me, the @VFPlus stands out, and has delivered much more as a "small party", than @Action4SA ever has.

You don’t get to vote for maximal disruption, maximal grievance, and maximal “I alone can fix it” theater and then act shocked when the other side stops treating every negotiation like a good-faith exercise.
So many people voted for the human equivalent of a sledgehammer to a Swiss watch and then wondered why the watch stopped telling time. The agreements that “would have happened” under literally any other adult in the room never materialized because the voters decided the adult was the problem. Congratulations. You got the chaos you ordered. Enjoy the receipt.
